Paola Maria di Pisa e Lerici, Cavallone Patrizia di Pula et Livorno Picture of the second Italian warship above destroyer-type or submarine-type to be reborn as a metahuman shipgirl, the former RM Pola sunk at the Battle of Cape Matapan in the spring of 1941 off Greece, she now living as Paola di Pisa. Lover of all things alcoholic (understandable given what happened to her crew in that battle when they elected to get massively drunk after she was crippled by torpedo bombers) and something of an exhibitionist (though she tones it down around Moroboshi Ataru's sisters given many of them are QUITE underage), she is a very fun-loving girl who livens up a party by her presence alone. Like her former fleet mate Roberta Ansaldo, Paola also inherited the ability to use Dying Will Flames thanks to some of her lost crew being members of the metahuman Mafia, mostly hailing from the Cavallone family, hence her patrician title honouring her namesake city and place of construction. To the surprise of many, especially one Renato "Reborn" Sinclair (who liaises between the various Mafia families and the Moroboshi Clan concerning both Roberta and Paola), the reborn cruiser mastered TWO types of Dying Will Flames, both Storm Flames (which enhances her energy projection abilities to battleship-type levels) and Lightning Flames (which gives her battleship-level invulnerability). Of course, given that the two Flame-active shipgirls are affiliated with Itō Yoiko (THG Yonaga) thanks to Ataru's granduncle Kyōsuke serving as the reborn carrier's junior navigation officer, they are seen as beginner students in Saikō Jinseijutsu-ryū, their training monitored from a distance by Moroboshi Negako herself. Thanks to her being quite the conniseur of wine, Paola gladly hosts parties among other shipgirls who also don't mind ingesting such drinks; among them are Kakuta Junko (THG Jun'yō), Seigō Chitose (THG Chitose), Akakura Namiko (THG Nachi) and Florence Henry (USS Ranger). Of course, Roberta and the Chihaya sisters (the reborn/Gifted Kongō-class battlecruisers/fast battleships) are always close by to ensure things don't get TOO wild...!
