On the left, the brown-haired girl in a red and white shrine maiden outfit sits with bare legs swinging gently over the veranda lip, a bamboo skewer raised in her hand as she presses a white dango dumpling lightly to her lips, one cheek rounded as she chews; her large crimson hair bow and white hair tubes rest neatly around her sidelocks, and her red eyes gaze upward toward the lunar disc in quiet satisfaction. Beside her on the right, the blonde girl in a black pointed witch hat and apron leans back onto one braced palm against the wooden planks, laughing with an open-mouthed grin, her bright yellow eyes turned toward her companion while her free hand holds a skewer of sweet dumplings aloft; her single braided lock of pale yellow hair falls forward over her chest. Resting between them on the floorboards sits a square wooden sanbo pedestal stacked with spherical white tsukimi dango, alongside a pair of dark ceramic cups sending thin, vertical threads of steam straight into the still night air and a slender earthenware vase holding wild stalks of feathery pampas grass. Cool, pale moonlight illuminates their silhouettes, casting crisp blue-toned shadows across the wood that meet a warm amber wash of lantern light spilling through open shoji screens behind them. Clean linework defines every edge, with gentle colors throughout, smooth and glossy skin tones, and expressive, radiant eyes. Peaceful autumn evening.
