The grandfather is drawn with soft rounded proportions and an oversized head, featuring short silver-grey hair neatly trimmed at the temples, cheerful crescent-shaped squinting eyes with crinkling crow's feet, and a tender, joyful smile. He is dressed in traditional holiday attire consisting of a dark moss-green haori jacket layered over an ash-grey kimono patterned with faint white plum blossom crests, with pristine white tabi on his folded feet. Seated cross-legged in the center, he lovingly cherishes a group of four plump, cloud-like sheep: resting contentedly in his lap, a small white lamb curls up with closed happy eyes as the grandfather's liver-spotted right hand sinks deep into its springy, voluminous fleece to gently stroke behind its soft pink-lined ears, while his left forearm wraps securely around its woolly side. The grandfather's fingers visibly compress and indent the thick white wool, causing the surrounding fleece to puff and crest outward around his knuckles. Flanking him, three more rounded, marshmallow-like sheep press closely: one on his right rests its chin directly on his knee with cheeks squished against the fabric in pure bliss, another behind his left shoulder peeks forward and nuzzles its soft snout against the collar of his haori, and a fourth cuddles against his left side with its tiny black hooves neatly tucked underneath its body. Both the grandfather and the flock exchange radiating contentment, their gazes and snug postures locking them into an affectionate cluster. In the upper right corner, bold vertical black brush calligraphy serves as the display title reading "謹賀新年", stamped beneath by a crisp square vermilion red hanko seal; in the upper left, a playful rounded graphic subtitle reads "未年". Framing the upper margins are stylized pastel-pink flowering plum boughs and rich pine sprigs, layered over drifting cream-and-gold cloud patterns against an airy off-white card background. The lighting is an even, soft high-key ambient glow that casts gentle rounded pastel shadows beneath the figures, highlighting the pillowy textures of the sheep's wool and the crisp, clean outlines of the festive composition. Tender and heartwarming.
