A medium-wide shot from a slight low angle frames two young spellcasters side by side on the crest of a rolling green hill at sunset. On the left, the shorter mage strikes an exaggerated, theatrical stance with feet planted wide upon the turf, thrusting her long wooden staff—crowned by a curved claw cradling a smooth red orb—triumphantly into the evening air. Her free hand curls dramatically near her chest, fingers tensed in a stylized flourish, while the hem of her red tunic dress and gold-trimmed brown capelet whip outward in dynamic motion. Dark brown hair with long temple sidelocks frames her face, her crimson eyes shining with manic pride behind a bold, boastful grin aimed out over the landscape. Directly to her right, her companion stands with both palms planted securely against her hips and elbows flared out, weight resting solidly on both boots. Wearing a dark high-collared tunic dress accented with puffed white sleeves and a neat neck ribbon, her long brown hair trailing in low twin ribbons over her shoulders, she leans her torso slightly toward the posing girl; her eyebrows are raised in affectionate exasperation as she shoots a sideways, half-pouting glance at her boastful rival. Behind them, the blazing amber-gold sun dips along the horizon, throwing radiant orange rim light across their clothing, staff, and hair, while casting their long, sharp shadows stretching forward down the grassy slope. Far below in the distant valley floor, a solitary small circular scorched crater smolders quietly, its thin thread of pale smoke rising vertically before bending sideways along a gentle breeze. Playfully competitive.
