世界渡り鳥の日 ー World Migratory Bird Day
本日、１０月第二土曜日は国連が定めた世界渡り鳥の日だそうです(∩´∀｀)∩ やはりこの時期が多くの渡り鳥が移動をするのでこの時期に定めたそうです( *´艸｀) うちの周りでも結構な数の鳥が移動しているのを良く見ます。 黒い帯のようにすごい数の鳥が高い空を渡って行ったり、綺麗な編隊を組んだグースが空高く飛んで行ったりと渡り方は色々あるみたいです(∩´∀｀)∩ でも、いつも夕方近くに見るのですが、これから夜になるのに夜はどうするんだろう・・・といつも不思議になります(ノД`)・゜・。（不思議に思ったので、調べてみるとみんな夜通し休まずに飛んでいるらしいです(ノД`)・゜・。） Today—the second Saturday in October—is apparently World Migratory Bird Day, designated by the United Nations. It seems this time of year was chosen because so many migratory birds are on the move. I often see quite a few birds migrating around my neighborhood, too. There are various ways they travel—sometimes huge flocks stream across the high sky like a black ribbon, and other times geese fly high up in beautiful formations. I usually spot them near sunset, though, and I always wonder what they do as night falls... (Curious about this, I looked it up and found out that they apparently fly through the night without stopping to rest.)
