A blue-skinned young woman sits tilted slightly back in a dark leather and polished chrome barber chair, enveloped from the collarbone down in a smooth, high-sheen black nylon salon cape fastened snugly around her neck. Her head is completely bare of any hat, hood, or ornament, fully exposing her scalp and hair. The hairstyle is captured mid-transformation with intense textural contrast: the left side of her scalp is cleanly buzzed into a velvety, uniform layer of short dark-blue stubble, while the right side remains an enormous, lush deluge of thick, dense, and deeply defined wavy pale-blue hair that falls in heavy, sculpted swathes. Running straight through the boundary along the crown of her head, silver electric hair clippers slice smoothly into the dense thicket, lopping off another dense swathe of hair. Severed blue strands and thick locks spill downward through the air, caught mid-fall as they slide across the slick, non-stick nylon of the draped cape. Directly at the point of shear above the vibrating steel blades, stylized vibrating sound-effect lettering reads "BZZZZ" with sharp jittered lines emphasizing the mechanical hum. Her face is slackened in a hazy, dazed expression, her glowing blue eyes half-lidded with an unfocused gaze directed slightly downward into empty space; her lips are parted in a breathless gasp, releasing a faint, curling plume of white condensed breath that dissipates into the chilly air. Cool fluorescent overhead illumination casts razor-sharp highlights along the vibrating clipper blades, the chrome frame of the headrest, and the glossy surface of the cape, contrasted against deep indigo cast shadows under the dense bulk of her remaining hair. Melancholic detachment.
