Discord disaster.
**[Chaldea Lounge, 11:47 PM — Three days after the FGO English Discord launched]** **Mash:** *(staring at her phone, shield tilted slightly, like she just took a hit she didn't see coming)* …Sempai. **Ritsuka:** Yeah? **Mash:** I was in the FGO English Discord. For four minutes. **Ritsuka:** And? **Mash:** Four minutes, Sempai. I saw things. I've fought Grand Servants. I've stood in front of Beelzebub. I have *seen* the inside of a singularity. And yet. *(She sets the phone face-down on the table like it's a contaminated artifact.)* I will not be going back. **Ritsuka:** What happened? **Mash:** A man named "GachaGoblin777" posted a 4K image of Gilgamesh doing a backflip into a lake. The entire server lost its mind. Someone typed "HE'S A TRAITOR" in all caps. I don't know what that means. I don't want to know what that means. I am a shield. I protect. I do not protect against *that.* **Ritsuka:** …That's… not what I expected from a "family-friendly" server. **Mash:** *(brightening)* Right?! So I thought — Sempai, remember the Sonic Discord? The one that launched and immediately became a warzone? **Ritsuka:** I remember. **Mash:** Well, they've *reopened* it. With restrictions! And it's a children's franchise! Sonic the Hedgehog! Blue hedgehog! Gotta go fast! How bad can it be?! **Ritsuka:** Mash. **Mash:** We can just *chill*, Sempai. Watch some Sonic clips. Maybe meet a nice fan. **Ritsuka:** …You want to go to the Sonic Discord. **Mash:** It's *family friendly!* **Ritsuka:** *(long pause)* …You're right. Let's go. --- **[Sonic the Hedgehog Official Discord — 11:52 PM]** **Mash:** *(typing)* Hello! I am a new member! I love the blue hedgehog! He is very fast! **[Auto-Mod]:** *Your message has been flagged. Please wait for review.* **Mash:** …Why? **Ritsuka:** I think "blue hedgehog" triggered a filter. **Mash:** I just said the word "blue." **[Auto-Mod]:** *User has been muted for 10 minutes.* **Mash:** *(shield is up again)* --- **[Back in Chaldea, 12:15 AM]** **Mash:** *(staring at the wall)* …I'm never touching a Discord again. **Ritsuka:** *(leaning back, arms crossed, a small smile)* You know what's funny? I've never once seen Kinoko Nasu or Takashi Takeuchi — the actual *creators* and *producer* of this franchise — sitting in a Discord server, talking to fans. They're in their offices in Tokyo, making the game, and the *North American localizer* decided to open a Discord server because "everyone uses Discord." **Mash:** Who told them everyone uses Discord? **Ritsuka:** Apparently the localizer looked around, saw a bunch of Western fans in Discord servers, and said, "Hey, everyone's using Discord, why shouldn't we?" And just like that, Aniplex of America launched the official English FGO Discord in July. "Officially authorized," they call it. Not even fully official. More like… *(mimics a corporate press release)* "We are excited to partner with GameWith to bring you a community experience!" **Mash:** And the Japanese side? **Ritsuka:** The Japanese side doesn't have an official Discord. At all. Not because they're afraid of it. Because Japan isn't even a top-three Discord country. The top three are the United States – ~28.4%, Brazil – ~6.48% and India – ~5.27%. Japan sits way down the list. The Japanese FGO community uses Twitter, 5ch, and GameWith forums. They don't *need* Discord. The NA localizer essentially looked at a platform that's barely used in the source country and said, "We're opening a server here." **Mash:** *(slowly)* So the people who made the game don't use Discord. The people who *live* in the country where the game was made don't use Discord. And the localizer opened a Discord because "everyone uses Discord." **Ritsuka:** Exactly. And now *you* saw GachaGoblin777 and nearly lost your will to live. **Mash:** I am a shield. I do not shield against backflipping Gilgamesh. **Ritsuka:** And you want to go to the *Sonic* Discord. **Mash:** *(quieter)* …It's a children's franchise. **Ritsuka:** Mash. The three people who actually *created* Sonic the Hedgehog — Yuji Naka, Naoto Ohshima, and Hirokazu Yasuhara — all left Sega. Ohshima left in 1999. Yasuhara left in 2002. Naka left in 2006. None of them are at Sega anymore. None of them are in that Discord. None of them are "actively talking to fans on Discord." The Discord is run by community managers and auto-moderation bots. The *creators* are in Tokyo, making other things, or in their own studios, or — in Naka's case — at Square Enix now. **Mash:** …So it's the same situation. The creators don't use Discord. The localizer/company opens a Discord. And then it becomes a warzone. **Ritsuka:** Same energy. Different hedgehog. **Mash:** *(long, long pause)* …I'm going to bed. **Ritsuka:** Good call. **Mash:** And Sempai? **Ritsuka:** Yeah? **Mash:** If anyone in Chaldea ever says "let's make an official Chaldea Discord server" — **Ritsuka:** I will personally stand in front of them with a Grand Servant. **Mash:** *(small smile)* Thank you, Sempai. **[Mash's phone buzzes. She glances at it. It's a notification from the FGO English Discord. She puts it face-down again. She does not open it.]** **[End scene.]**

2persons, 1boy, 1girl, full body, standing, from side, side view, back-to-back, legs apart, relaxed stance, feet on ground, near arm lowered, arm at side, far arm bent, hand on hip, torso angled forward, turned toward viewer, looking at viewer, head turned, eye contact, black hair, messy hair, short hair, hair between eyes, blue eyes, white high-collar tunic, black straps, black pants, black boots, pinkish-purple hair, lilac hair, short bob cut, hair over one eye, purple eyes, black-rimmed glasses, dark uniform jacket, dark pleated skirt, black pantyhose, futuristic interior, sci-fi command room, glowing floor panels, cool lighting, crisp linework.
A full-body profile shot captured directly from the side, framing a young man and a young woman standing back-to-back with their entire figures visible down to the soles of their boots. Their upper backs and shoulder blades rest together at the center of the frame, grounding their mutual stance. The young man on the left faces predominantly toward the left while slightly canting his chest toward the camera; the young woman on the right faces predominantly toward the right while likewise angling her torso slightly forward toward the lens. Both adopt a relaxed, balanced posture with their feet planted loosely shoulder-width apart. On each figure, the arm closest to the camera hangs straight down naturally along the outer thigh with open, relaxed fingers, while the opposite arm on the far side is bent at the elbow with the hand resting firmly against the hip.
Both individuals turn their heads to face the camera directly, making steady and focused eye contact with the viewer. The young man gazes forward with clear, determined cerulean eyes through slightly tousled, spiky black hair that falls between his eyebrows, dressed in a high-collared white uniform tunic with dark utility straps, tailored black trousers, and sturdy combat boots. The young woman beside him offers a calm, resolute gaze with bright purple eyes framed by sleek black-rimmed glasses, her soft lilac-pink bob hair styled with long asymmetrical fringe concealing her right eye; she wears a fitted dark academy uniform jacket over a white collared shirt, paired with a pleated dark skirt, opaque black tights, and low-heeled dark boots. They stand on a clean, reflective sci-fi interior floor composed of dark slate metal tiles, with embedded linear cyan LED strips providing crisp ambient under-lighting. A balanced cool-white key light strikes from the camera's vantage to illuminate their expressions and garments, while the semi-reflective floor mirrors the inverted silhouettes of their boots with soft, diffuse edges. Steadfast confidence.

1girl, 1boy, brother and sister, siblings, two-shot, cowboy shot, facing each other, looking at each other, eye contact, annoyed, deadpan, expressionless, red hair, long hair, high twintails, hair ribbon, red eyes, red-framed glasses, jitome, half-closed eyes, chaldea uniform, white jacket, pleated skirt, white pantyhose, black hair, messy hair, short hair, hands in pockets, slouching, chaldea command room, sci-fi interior, holographic screen, glowing globe, control panels, futuristic consoles, cold lighting
Cowboy shot of two siblings facing each other in a three-quarter profile standoff across the polished floor of a circular futuristic command room. On the left, the teenage girl stands with her weight shifted firmly onto her right hip, one hand planted at her waist while the other hangs tense at her side. She has long, vibrant red hair bound into high twintails with black ribbons, framing rectangular red-framed glasses over narrow, irate crimson eyes. Her brow is pulled downward in annoyance and her lips are pressed into an exasperated, deadpan flat line. She wears a tailored white high-collared command uniform jacket with black accents, paired with a matching white pleated uniform skirt and opaque white pantyhose. Directly opposite her, the teenage boy slouches lazily with rounded shoulders, both hands buried deep in the pockets of his matching white command coat worn over dark trousers. He has shaggy, unstyled short black hair falling across his brow, and his dark eyes are half-lidded in a numb, completely unfazed deadpan expression, his mouth resting in an indifferent horizontal slit. Their gazes lock in an unblinking standoff—her sharp, irritated glare meeting his impassive, exhausted stare. In the background, the cavernous dark bridge is illuminated by a massive glowing cyan holographic sphere of Earth floating above tiered console banks; the cool light casts crisp shadows across the brushed metal floor, where the glossy floorboard seams cleanly reflect the cyan display glow. Dry comedic tension.

2people, 1boy, 1girl, duo, cowboy shot, slightly from below, dutch angle, walking together, hallway, futuristic corridor, white walls, glass panels, eye contact, talking, boy, short messy black hair, bangs between eyes, blue eyes, smiling, open mouth, white and black uniform jacket, trousers, gesturing with one hand, girl, short lavender-pink hair, hair over one eye, purple eyes, glasses, black-framed eyeglasses, light smile, soft blush, holding tablet against chest, two hands holding tablet, black gloves, white uniform coat, soft ambient lighting, clean reflections, blue rim light
A slightly low-angle cowboy shot captures a young man and a young woman walking side-by-side down a polished, gleaming white futuristic corridor. On the right, the boy with tousled jet-black hair and clear blue eyes leans slightly toward his companion, shifting his weight forward mid-stride while raising his left hand in an open, encouraging gesture as he speaks; his white-collared tactical uniform jacket flares slightly behind him with the movement. On the left, the girl with short pastel-lavender hair that veils her right eye peers up through neat dark-rimmed glasses, meeting his gaze with a tender, crescent-eyed smile and flushed cheeks, both gloved hands clasping a glowing flat-screen data slate securely against her chest. Recessed overhead panels cast a soft, neutral daylight wash across their faces, while low-set cyan floor strips produce subtle, crisp rim lights along the edges of their dark trousers and boots. A faint stream from an overhead ventilation duct gently lifts and sways the loose strands of their hair in the same rightward direction across the sterile air. Reassuring camaraderie.

1girl, 1boy, brother and sister, looking at each other, eye contact, facing each other, cowboy shot, slightly from below, three-quarter view, red hair, very long hair, twintails, hair ribbon, red-framed glasses, red eyes, annoyed, furrowed brow, scowl, hand on hip, leaning forward, short hair, black hair, messy hair, deadpan, expressionless, half-closed eyes, hands in pockets, chaldea uniform, white jacket, high collar, gold buckles, skirt, black pleated skirt, white pantyhose, black trousers, chaldea command room, futuristic control room, holographic displays, circular consoles, monitors, blue ambient light, metallic floor,
Viewed from a slightly low cowboy shot at a three-quarter angle, the brother and sister stand face-to-face across the polished metallic walkway of the command room. On the left, the girl shifts her weight aggressively onto her front foot, leaning forward with her left hand braced firmly on her hip and her right fist clenching at her side. Her vibrant crimson hair is parted into high, voluminous twintails tied with dark ribbons that drape forward over her shoulders. Behind sleek red-framed glasses, her red eyes narrow in fierce annoyance, her brows drawn down hard and her lips pressed into a sharp, irritated scowl. She wears a fitted white high-collared command uniform jacket with black shoulder panels and gold cinch buckles, paired with a pleated black skirt, seamless white pantyhose, and dark boots. Opposite her on the right, the boy rests his weight comfortably on his back heels, slouching with both hands sunk deep into the pockets of his straight-cut black uniform trousers. His tousled, short black bangs hang loosely over his brow, framing half-closed, tired dark eyes that meet her glare in absolute, deadpan indifference, his mouth set in a flat, unmoving line without a trace of reaction. Their eyes remain locked in a direct standoff, her heated scowl bouncing harmlessly off his unbothered calm. Behind them, the sweeping circular control bridge glows with cool cobalt and teal light emitted by curved tiers of monitor consoles and floating holographic status rings, while overhead white task lighting catches the shoulders of their jackets. The luminescent cyan floor tracks cast sharp rim lighting along their boots and project twin elongated shadows back along the reflective steel decking. Comedic exasperation.
