A high-angle view looking down at a girl crouching on a light-colored wooden living room floor. The girl has long, straight black hair that falls down her back, held by a large, vivid red ribbon tied at the back of her head. She wears a light pink short-sleeved cotton blouse and a navy blue pleated skirt. Her body is angled toward a calico cat, her weight shifted onto her toes as she squats. She looks down at the cat with a warm, affectionate smile, her eyes curved. One of her hands reaches forward, fingers gently stroking the calico cat's back. The cat is bent over a small ceramic feeding dish resting flat on the floor, focused on eating. Soft, warm afternoon sunlight filters in from a side window, casting a long, gentle shadow of the girl across the floorboards. The palette is dominated by the warm tones of the wood and the sharp contrast of the red ribbon against her black hair. Tender.
