1boy, solo, male, bishounen, youthful, boyish face, handsome, white pupils, black sclera, black irises, dragon eyes, slit pupils, reptilian eyes, unusual pupils, monochrome, greyscale, limited palette, clown, pierrot, jester, black tentacles, tentacles, dark tentacles, madness, insanity, deranged, unhinged, unsettling smile, perverse beauty, creepy, ominous, long fingers, pale skin, black hair, messy hair, sharp teeth, from below, close-up, portrait, dutch angle, looking at viewer, head tilt, upper body, dark background, dramatic lighting, high contrast The camera looks up from below at a slight dutch tilt, framing the young man's head and one shoulder in tight close-up, so his chin lifts and the bones of his jaw read sharp against the dark. His hair falls in black strands over a pale forehead, and the tilt sets his face off-axis so the eyes are the first thing that lands: white pupils — blank, round, luminous — set inside irises and sclera that are solid black, so the whites of the eye are where the darkness should be and the darkness where the light should be. The pupils are not round but vertically slit, tapering at both ends like a reptile's or a dragon's, and the low camera catches their edge so they look wet and reflective. One brow is arched higher than the other and one eyelid is lowered a fraction; the expression is a fixed, too-wide smile with the corners pulled back and a hint of teeth that are a little too sharp, and the whole face is caught between a laugh and something colder. He is beautiful in a way that sits wrong — the symmetry of a painted clown's face on a real, youthful face, the delicacy of the features undercut by the wrongness in the eyes. His skin is nearly the same value as the paper-white highlights, and the whole figure is chromatic only in black, white and the greys between: pitch-black hair and clothing against a pale, colourless face. Behind him and to one side, a mass of black tentacles rises from his back and shoulders, smooth and glossy, curling up into the frame and out of the top of the composition, one of them arcing forward past his cheek without touching it and one tangling across the far shoulder. The tentacles are the darkest thing in the image, a step darker than his hair, with a single hard highlight running along each curve. He does not look at them; his gaze is fixed out of the frame toward the viewer, held steady and slightly too long. The ground is a seamless dark-to-black field, empty of anything else, so all the detail sits in the face, the eyes and the tentacles. The light is a single hard cool source from just above the camera and off to his left; it rakes the tops of the tentacles and the bridge of his nose, and throws a long, dense shadow across his right cheek, so the clown-white face is split into lit and unlit halves with the mouth only half visible in the light. Everything beyond the reach of that one light is absolute black — no background detail, no props, no floor line. The palette is disciplined: black, white, and the narrow grey of skin and teeth; no colour is admitted anywhere. The mood is unsettling and quietly deranged.
