USS Matapédia

An adopted blue Orion, this is the shipgirl SI of USS Matapédia, namesake of a town at the confluence of the namesake river with the Restigouche River on the Québec/New Brunswick border. Yet another namesake of a Flower-class frigate that sailed for the Royal Canadian Navy in World War Two, she was created as the synthetic "soul" of a Sabre-class frigate in 2360. Her first commission lasted twenty years; while many of her sisters were involved in the Dominion War, Matapédia was held back to keep trade lines between the core Federation worlds and allied/sympathetic governments open. In 2382, she commissioned an improved Sabre-class hull, which was in commission for nineteen years before it was lost in the Frontier Day "silliness", though she didn't lose much in the way of casualties. She would commission a Da Vinci-class destroyer hull in 2403.
