Sanae Kochiya caught you resting outside

You thought you could hide and laze around under the warm sun, but Sanae has found you. She looks quite happy to have done so.

More to See

character: kochiya_sanae pov, from below, lying down, lap pillow, two people, head resting on another's lap, resting head on thighs, looking up, blue sky, daytime, outdoors, gentle loving smile, soft warm smile, closed mouth smile, half-closed eyes, looking down at viewer, happy, green hair, long hair, hair tubes, frog hair ornament, snake hair ornament, hair ornament, green eyes, blue skirt, white shirt, detached sleeves, wide sleeves, grass, sunlight, head tilt, soft light, warm palette, serene The camera is the viewer's own eyes, low and tipped back: the frame is a point-of-view from a body lying flat on its back in short summer grass, chin lifted, so everything above the horizon line is sky and everything at the top edge of the frame leans over the lens. A wide expanse of soft blue sky fills the upper two thirds, pale and slightly hazy toward the horizon and deepening to a clean cerulean at the top of the frame, with three or four thin, slow white cloud streaks pulled diagonally across it. Sanae Kochiya's face and upper body lean into the top of the frame from directly overhead and slightly to the right of centre, her chin dipped toward her chest as she looks straight down at the viewer, so her face is foreshortened — forehead and eyes broad, jaw and chin receding — and her long green hair falls free of gravity past her shoulders, hanging down toward the lens and framing the sky on either side. The viewer's head rests across her thighs; her lap and the fabric of her blue skirt fill the middle band of the image as a soft, shaded shelf under the viewer's head, and the skirt cotton compresses and creases where the skull weighs into it, the hem drawn tight over one thigh. Her hands are both visible: the left hand settled flat and warm on the viewer's forehead, fingers curved back into the hairline, thumb loose; the right hand resting light on the viewer's shoulder, forearm braced across her own knee to take the weight. Her torso is turned a quarter toward her own left hip, one hip carrying her seated weight in the grass, shoulders rounded forward in a gentle hunch, and the white shirt and wide detached sleeves fall in soft folds with the cuff of the near sleeve draped over her forearm. Her eyes — green, lids low and relaxed — stay locked on the viewer's face, and her expression is a faint, closed-lip smile of pure fondness: the corners of the mouth lifted and soft, one brow slightly raised, a small line of warmth at the outer corner of each eye, a slow exhale visible in the looseness of her jaw. The frog and snake hair ornaments sit at the sides of her head and one hair tube swings forward past her jaw, catching the light. The light is a single high, diffuse sun from the upper left: it rims the top of her hair and the edge of her sleeves in a warm halo, lays a bright band across her forehead and nose, and leaves her face in soft open shade, so her eyes read clear while the underside of her chin and the viewer's side of her lap fall into cool blue shadow tinted by the reflected sky. Grass blades crowd the extreme bottom and lower corners of the frame in close, out-of-focus green, several bent toward the lens and one crossing in front of her knee, and a rim of warm sunlit ground shows at the far right of the frame, the only non-sky, non-person element. The palette holds to soft blue, warm cream white, leaf green and the golden highlight on her hair, with no other hue admitted; her hair and the shadowed side of her face keep the deepest saturation. Depth is shallow — her face and the hand on the viewer's forehead tack sharp, her shoulders falling soft, the sky behind unbroken and calm. Tender, safe.
