More to See

1girl, solo, sword maiden, long hair, wet hair, hair clinging to skin, water running down body, water running down hair, waterfall, standing under waterfall, heavy falling water, water droplets, water splashing on shoulders, one hand brushing hair aside, hand in hair, other hand holding towel, white terrycloth towel, towel pressed to chest, covering chest with towel, bare shoulders, bare arms, bare legs, barefoot, from below, low angle, cowboy shot, looking up, eyes closed, lips slightly parted, steam, wet stone, spray, mist, cool cyan and deep teal palette, warm skin highlights The camera sits low and close to the wet rock, looking steeply up at a single woman standing directly beneath a heavy waterfall, so the falling column of water reads as a bright vertical seam behind and over her. She is alone. Her long hair is soaked through and dark with water, strands plastered flat across her shoulders and down her upper chest, and the falling water threads off the ends in continuous runnels. Her right hand is lifted to the side of her head, fingers combed up into the wet hair at her temple, drawing a heavy lock back and away from her cheek; that forearm crosses in front of her ear with the elbow raised. Her left arm is folded tight across her chest, and the thick white terrycloth towel is bunched in that fist and pressed flat against her front, its fold gripped at her collarbone, the terry texture darkened where the spray has soaked into it. Her chin is tilted up into the downpour, eyes closed, lips parted a little around a slow breath, brows slightly drawn against the force of the water. Water breaks on the crown of her head and on the tops of her shoulders and runs in branching streams down her arms and the outside of her thigh, beading and gathering at her elbows and kneecaps before dropping. Spray fills the air in a fine white haze, and where the falling sheet of water thins near her body it refracts the light into a soft glassy distortion around her silhouette; the rock at the bottom of the frame is black and glossy, and water splits over a single jutting lip of stone beside her feet, throwing a thin white fan to one side. The light comes from one cold, diffuse source high behind the waterfall, so the falling water glows pale cyan while her lit surfaces catch a warm skin tone against deep teal shadow; her own shadow is swallowed by the water and reads only as a darker patch in the haze behind her knees. Palette held to cool cyan, deep teal, black wet stone and the white of the towel, with warmth only in her skin. The detail budget goes to the hand in her hair, the fist bunching the towel, the water's contact with her skin and the soaked terry texture. Intimate, cool, and charged.
