character: makinami_mari_illustrious, copyright: evangelion:_3.0_you_can_(not)_redo 1girl, solo, full body, standing, white plugsuit, evangelion plugsuit, form-fitting bodysuit, mechanical collar, chest connector ports, segmented armored panels, white gloves, white boots, twintails, long brown hair, hairband, blue eyes, glasses, red-rimmed glasses, from below, dutch angle, looking down at viewer, head tilt, one hand on hip, other arm extended, open hand, fingers spread, contrapposto, weight on right leg, detailed face, dark gothic atmosphere, ornate background, dramatic chiaroscuro, oil painting, thick impasto, rich shadows The camera looks up at her from a low dutch angle, tilted so the horizon rakes across the frame, her full figure standing head to boot in a single vertical composition. She is caught mid-turn, torso twisting away while her chin drops toward the lens, one hip cocked with the weight riding her right leg and her left knee slack, left hand planted flat on the jut of her hip, right arm flung wide and slightly behind her, fingers spread in a gesture that has just released something invisible. The white plugsuit hugs her from the high mechanical collar to the articulation at her ankles: a glossy white bodysuit with seam lines running up the inner thigh and along the ribs, a rigid segmented collar rising at the nape, paired circular connector ports at the chest, paneled armor plates at the shoulders and hips, and white gloves and boots that read slightly matte against the suit's sheen. Under the studio light the fabric pinches into creases at her hip and knee, and the stretch across her chest catches a long bright highlight. Her long brown twintails sweep out behind her right shoulder, lifted by the turn of her head, the hairband pulling the ponytails tight at the crown so they flare wide at the ends. Red-rimmed glasses sit across her nose, and behind the lenses her blue eyes are angled down the tilted frame to meet the viewer. Her mouth is open a fraction, grinning, one brow lifted higher than the other. The ground is a seamless black that rises into a smoky void behind her; the only light comes from high left, a single source raking across the left side of her face and the top plane of her shoulder plate while her right side and the underside of her chin fall into deep shadow. The cast shadow climbs the air behind her, long and angled with the dutch tilt. Deep umber and ash-grey dominate the background, and the white of her suit blazes against it as the only light mass in the picture -- the palette is white, umber, and a cold sheen of steel-grey, nothing else admitted. Her hair and the orange plug suit are the sole warm accents, but the white suit's highlights carry the eye. Painterly oil texture shows in the folds of the fabric, the shadow transitions, and the faint craquelure over the background. The composition is ornate and reverent, a single figure elevated into an icon. Effortlessly menacing, gothic.
