character: kikyou_(inuyasha), inuyasha_(character), copyright: inuyasha two people, 1girl, 1boy, inuyasha, kikyou \(inuyasha\), sitting, sitting side by side, seiza, facing each other, looking at another, eye contact, tender expressions, light smile, closed mouth, gentle gaze, half-closed eyes, head tilt, leaning toward each other, reaching toward each other, hands almost touching, long hair, white hair, dog ears, yellow eyes, bead necklace, tooth necklace, red robe, bare feet, black hair, very long hair, ponytail, side lock, brown eyes, white kimono, red hakama, wide sleeves, ribbon trim, red spider lilies, lycoris radiata, flower field, riverbank, river, dusk, sunset, orange sky, wind, blowing hair, flowing sleeves, dragonfly, flying insect, from side, profile, wide shot, cowboy shot, low angle, warm palette, orange and red and black, depth of field, no text The camera sits low near the grass, a three-quarter profile view from the side that holds both figures and the river behind them. The boy and the girl are seated side by side on the low riverbank, both settled back on their heels, knees drawn in, their shoulders angled toward one another so that their faces turn into each other's line of sight: her chin lifted slightly, his chin dipped, their eyes meeting full and steady, each holding the other's gaze with half-lowered lids and faint, closed-lip smiles that soften the mouth corners rather than open the teeth. His white dog ears stand tall and swivel toward her voice; a strand of his long white hair crosses his cheek in the wind. The heavy bead necklace and the fang pendant rest against the collar of his red robe, and the robe's hem pools over the grass at his bare ankles. Her very long black hair is bound back in its low ponytail, the tail of it lifting and streaming to the left in the same gust, and the wide white sleeves of her kimono billow with the ribbon trim catching the air while her red hakama spreads across the bank. Between them their hands rest close on the flattened grass, his fingers just shy of hers, not yet touching, weight carried on both hips so neither leans too far. The wind is the visible force of the image: it lays the red spider lilies over in a single direction, bares their long curved stamens, and sends the loose hair of both figures streaming on the same bias. A single dragonfly hovers just above the lily heads at their shoulder height, its wings catching the last light, and a second smaller one skims further out over the water. The lilies bloom in an unbroken dense field from the immediate foreground to the crest of the bank, hundreds of crimson thread-like petals on bare green stems, so many that the near ones blur softly out of focus at the bottom edge of the frame. Beyond the grass the river runs wide and calm, its surface taking the sunset as broken ribbons of gold and dull copper, darker and softer in the reflection than the sky itself. The light is the low sun behind the far bank, coming in nearly horizontal from screen left, so the two faces are rimmed with warm orange along the cheek and jaw while their front planes stay in soft amber shade; the lilies glow translucent where the light passes through the petals and turn toward near-black red where it does not; long low shadows of the stems and of the seated pair stretch to the right across the grass. The palette is held to orange sky, crimson flowers, warm brown earth, black hair, white hair and white silk, and the boy's red robe as the one deep saturated solid among them. Soft grain in the shaded areas, clean crisp edges on the hair strands and the lily stamens. Tender, hushed.
