character: scarlet_(nikke), copyright: goddess_of_victory:_nikke 1girl, solo, scarlet_(nikke), long hair, grey hair, hair between eyes, heterochromia, yellow eyes, red eyes, large hat, jingasa, japanese clothes, white kimono, bodysuit, leotard, japanese armor, armor, from below, cowboy shot, dutch angle, looking down at viewer, half-closed eyes, smug, light smile, head tilt, hand on own hat, wind, falling cherry blossom petals, outdoors, dusk, The camera sits low and tilted a few degrees off level, looking up: a single woman stands on a weathered stone step of a shrine stair, filling the frame from the hem of her white kimono at the bottom edge to the wide brim of her large jingasa hat near the top, so the viewer looks up into her face. She is caught mid-motion, chin lowered and turned a little to her left, her right hand lifted to grip the front brim of the jingasa between thumb and forefinger, tilting it back just enough to uncover her eyes; her weight rests on her right leg with her left knee loose and forward, the kimono's front panel drawn taut by the shift of her hip. Under the open white kimono the dark bodysuit and the lacquered japanese armor plates of her shoulders and forearms show in layered edges, the armor's lacing catching the light in small horizontal bands. Her long grey hair hangs down past her shoulders, the strands between her eyes stirred across her cheek by a rising wind that also bellies the kimono's sleeve away from her right arm and lifts the loose ends of her hair sideways. Her mismatched eyes, one yellow and one red, look down at the viewer from under the shadow of the brim; her lids are half lowered and one corner of her mouth is pulled up in a small lopsided smile, chin dipped, as though she has just noticed someone at the foot of the stairs. She stands on the sun-facing side of the stair, so the low dusk sun behind and to the left of the camera rakes across the stone treads, lights the underside of the hat brim and the left line of her jaw, and throws a long shadow up the steps behind her; the shrine's dark trees hold the background in deep shadow beyond her, with rows of stone lanterns receding up the slope as soft, dim shapes. Cherry petals drift across the foreground, most of them below her knees so the face stays clear, and a few have already settled on the upward-facing flats of the stair treads and on the top of the jingasa's brim while none cling to its sloped sides. Palette held to white kimono, black lacquer and iron-grey armor, warm amber dusk light, and the pink of the petals as the only bright accent; behind her the sky cools to blue-violet. Crisp linework, clean cel shading with sharp shadow edges, quiet and commanding.
