The tape gag is a recurring visual trope and suspense element frequently utilized in thriller, action, and dramatic anime and manga. This specific motif involves characters bound with adhesive materials, often featuring duct tape, medical tape, packing tape, or specialized gag props. It serves as a narrative device in hostage situations, espionage storylines, and tense dark fantasy or crime scenarios.

character: hilda_(pokemon) 1girl, hilda (pokemon), brown hair, high ponytail, blue eyes, white shirt, black vest, denim shorts, baseball cap, gagged, tied up, bound, tied to chair, hands bound, feet bound, bound arms, bound legs, closed room, indoor, low angle, from below, looking at viewer, cinematic lighting A low-angle shot from below looking up at the girl. She is bound tightly to a wooden chair in the center of a windowless, closed room with grey concrete walls. Her wrists are bound together behind the backrest of the chair, and her ankles are lashed firmly to the chair legs with thick hemp rope. A white cloth gag is tied securely around her mouth, pulling the corners of her lips taut. She leans slightly to the left, her weight shifting against the restraints, while her blue eyes are wide and fixed on the viewer with a mixture of surprise and apprehension. The only light source is a single, harsh overhead bulb that casts a heavy shadow beneath her and emphasizes the coarse texture of the ropes biting into the fabric of her black vest and denim shorts. The palette is muted and industrial, dominated by cold greys and the dull brown of the wooden chair. Quiet tension.

character: liko_(pokemon). A medium shot from a slightly elevated angle shows liko_(pokemon) lying on a bed with white sheets in a bedroom. She is positioned on her back with her legs raised and bent at the knees. Liko has dark blue hair styled in a hair bun with a characteristic green strand, and her blue eyes are wide with a heavy blush on her cheeks. She is dressed in her second outfit, consisting of a turquoise sleeveless hoodie over black long sleeves and white shorts, with a yellow bag strap visible across her shoulder. Her torso, arms, and thighs are tightly bound with strips of blue duct tape, and a piece of blue tape serves as a gag across her mouth. The scene is illuminated by soft, diffused lighting that casts gentle shadows on the bedding. The overall atmosphere is quiet and constrained, rendered in a high-quality, detailed anime style with a focus on the textures of the tape and the fabric of the sheets.

character: kurokawa_akane, copyright: oshi_no_ko 1girl, solo, short blue hair, swept bangs, hair between eyes, blue eyes, high angle, from above, full body, sitting on floor, leaning against wall, white dress shirt, collared shirt, long sleeves, black pants, side stripes, two white stripes, duct tape over mouth, tape on mouth, gagged, bound wrists, wrists tied, ropes, bound ankles, ankles tied, knot, looking up, indoor, concrete floor, dramatic lighting, cast shadow From a high angle looking downward, a young woman with a chin-length deep blue bob sits confined on a cold concrete floor, her back braced against a plain, unadorned wall. Her wrists are crossed in front of her lower torso and wound tightly with coils of rough hemp rope, the coarse fibers pressing into the fabric at her wrists while her fingers remain curled in tension. Her legs are positioned forward with knees together, her ankles bound securely in parallel by multiple taut wraps of matching cord wrapped directly over the lower hem of her trousers. She wears a clean white long-sleeved dress shirt with a pointed collar, paired with black athletic pants that feature two prominent white lateral stripes running continuously down the outer seam of each leg. Across her lower face, a wide band of matte silver-grey duct tape stretches firmly from cheek to cheek, completely sealing her lips with slight horizontal tension wrinkles forming at the mouth's corners. Her wide blue eyes gaze upward with an intense, distressed expression, framed by soft bangs that fall between her brows. Illumination comes exclusively from a single cool-toned overhead lamp, casting a sharp, elongated shadow onto the floorboards beneath her and leaving the perimeter of the room in deep, murky shadow. The palette remains strictly controlled around stark white, charcoal black, deep indigo, and the pale tan of the binding fibers. Tense, helpless atmosphere.
