A low, slightly tilted camera looks up from beside the bed's carved footboard, so both women are seen three-quarter from below and to one side, the room's tall lattice window rising behind them. Lumine fills the near side of the frame, seen at shoulder height: her left forearm is pushed flat under Ganyu's shoulder blades, her right forearm slides beneath the backs of Ganyu's knees, and Ganyu's weight sinks into that cradle, bending Lumine's spine a little backward while her rear foot bears the step, the front foot just lifting its heel off the polished floorboards. Ganyu lies across the cradle line of those arms: her head lolls back against Lumine's upper arm with her chin tipped up, the plumb line of her long blue hair hanging free over Lumine's elbow with the loose tuft at her crown drooping, her goat horns catching the window light, her eyes fully shut and the lashes set soft and level, the bell at her throat resting still against her collarbone with the black gloves of her hands folded loosely in her lap and her detached white sleeves and gold trim gathered where the knees bend. One of Ganyu's horns presses close to the side of Lumine's head as she carries her, and Lumine's yellow eyes are cast forward and slightly down along the short path to the bed, her chin low in concentration, one short sidelock swinging against her cheek, her hair flower dim on the far side of her head. The two unhurried steps are mid-stride — the trailing foot still weighted as the leading foot reaches — so the shortest hair and cloth pull a half-beat behind the motion.
The room is a Liyue interior at dusk: the bed stands to the right of frame with a lacquered frame, a soft mattress and folded covers still smooth and unslept, a sheer canopy drifting; behind them a tall lattice window and a carved screen, a low table with a tea set and a single lamp set back near the wall. The only real light source is the low sun coming in warm and orange through the lattice, laying a barred pattern of window muntins across the floorboards, across Lumine's shoulder and along Ganyu's upturned face and the pale fabric of her sleeves; every cast shadow in the room stretches long and to the left, away from the window, and the far corners have gone dark violet. Cool ambient shadow fills the interior on the side facing camera, so the warm dusk border sits opposite a cool indoor shade. The palette is held to dusk amber and deepening indigo, with Ganyu's blue hair and the white of the dress the only pale, saturated notes.
A little dust drifts in the sunbeams and the lacquer of the bed's footboard throws one long smear of reflected light along the floor where the sun lands obliquely, brighter and sharper than the wood around it. Quiet, tender.
