USS Strathadam

Shipgirl AI of USS Strathadam, which was created as the synthetic "soul" of a Shi'Kahr-class light cruiser, said hull built at Port Weller Spacedocks' Phäeton works and commissioned in 2353. Said ship would remain in commission until 2391 when it was paid off, replaced by a Parliament-class engineer support ship two years later. Strathadam would endure through both the Dominion War and the Frontier Day incident of 2401 without issue. She perpetuates HMCS Strathadam, a River-class frigate which served in the latter years of the Second World War, then would be used to evacuate Holocaust survivors to Palestine post-war, eventually becoming a part of the Israeli Navy as AChY Misgav. Strathadam gets her name in a rather unusual path. The town that actually adopted the River-class ship which would take up said name was Newcastle on the Gulf of Saint Lawrence shores of New Brunswick; said town is now part of the city of Miramichi. However, there was an 11,350 tonne roadblock standing in the way of using that name: HMS Newcastle (pennant C76), a Town-class light cruiser serving in the Royal Navy. Thus, the name of a nearby village located upriver from Miramichi was chosen instead. Strathadam would be influenced heavily by Phäeton's legendary Hunt Commune, psionic warriors who trained with Gorn warriors to learn how to track down very difficult targets. They were of devastating effect against the Founders; despite the shapeshifters' natural invulnerability to being telepathically probed, they did present "blank spots" in the surrounding psionic fields that made them stick out like sore thumbs. Strathadam would lead landing parties herself with her compound bow to help put such beings down as a way of unleashing considerable havok among Dominion forces; this would also become necessary during Frontier Day.
