In a close two-shot composition framed at chest level, two battle maids face each other in profile against a ruined warscape. On the left, a girl with long pink hair and a distinct upright heart-shaped ahoge kneels on the fractured ground. Her large white feathered wings arch behind her shoulders, their lower flight feathers dusted with dark grime. Her armed maid dress and white apron are smudged with soot and fraying at the seams. Leaning slightly forward, her right hand reaches out with gentle contact, her fingertips resting tenderly over her companion's hand. Her soft pink eyes gaze straight ahead with a quiet expression of mingled relief and sorrow, her lips slightly parted. On the right, a gyaru maid with a short brown bob cut sits with her knees drawn up, a long dark sniper rifle resting vertically propped against her shoulder. Beneath her frilled maid headdress, a single delicate flower hair ornament sits pinned above her ear. Her glistening aqua eyes brim with unshed moisture, locked onto her partner's gaze, while her mouth softens into a small bittersweet smile. High above in the midground, a single military flare drifts slowly down under a tiny parachute, leaving a pale smoke trail against the deep purple-blue twilight sky. The flare serves as the dominant warm key light, casting rich amber highlights along the contours of their facing profiles, catching their eyelashes, wing edges, and the barrel of the rifle, contrasting against the cold indigo shadows. In the far background, dense plumes of smoke drift past the dark silhouettes of shattered buildings, punctuated along the distant horizon by tiny smoldering orange fires. Airborne ash flakes drift languidly between their faces, glowing gold as they cross the flare's descending beam before dissolving into cool darkness. Heartfelt and melancholic.
