Masa was disciplined, confident and intensely competitive. He had trained extensively in martial arts and took school athletics seriously. However, beneath his intimidating appearance was someone who genuinely cared about his friends. He was the type of person who naturally stepped forward whenever something went wrong. He’s the vice president of the Naginata Club and is one of Umiberī High School's traditional martial-arts clubs.
