A side view captures two girls side-by-side on a thick, royal blue gymnasium mat, locked in a fierce flexibility competition. Both are folded deeply forward in a seated stretch, their torsos pressing hard against their thighs. Their arms are fully extended past their ankles, fingers gripping the soles of their bare feet to pull themselves even deeper into the fold. The girl with blue hair tied in double buns and the girl with purple twintails both have faces flushed a deep red, their mouths open as they pant for breath, teeth gritted in concentrated strain. Heavy beads of sweat drip from their foreheads and chins, soaking through their white PE shirts until the fabric becomes translucent and clings tightly to their skin. Their navy blue buruma are drenched and darkened by perspiration. The gym's overhead fluorescent lights cast a sterile, bright glare, creating sharp highlights on the damp fabric and glistening sweat. The focus is tight on the tension of the stretch, with the muscles of their calves taut and the blue mat compressing under their weight. Intense competitive tension.
