Loch Frenzy(?)

Frenzies are fictional fish created by Blizzard, apparently inspired by piranhas, particularly their aggression and tendency to swim in schools. One variety, the Loch Frenzy, also serves as a fishing and cooking ingredient. These creatures inhabit a lake held back by a massive dam, which was subsequently destroyed during the Cataclysm. This reminded me of a certain propaganda TV drama, presumably inspired by the wildly exaggerated reputation of piranhas in popular culture. In that show, secret agents from a hostile country were secretly breeding large numbers of piranhas in a reservoir, planning to release them into the nation's waterways during a flood and unleash an ecological catastrophe. Apparently, Blizzard's writers never considered that the destruction of the dam might produce a similar ecological disaster for the Alliance. Or perhaps the Alliance simply had more pressing concerns than a nationwide piranha invasion.
