Bare legs below the shorts hem, feet out of frame past the crop. The room is tight and warm: a full-length mirror on the left wall catches her back and the flare of both pink tails from behind, its silvered surface darker and softer than the girl herself. A strip of round vanity bulbs runs along the mirror's top edge and is the only light source — it throws hard little highlights down the front of the shirt buttons, rims the pink wig in warm gold, and pools brightness on her collarbones and the bridge of her nose while the far corner of the room and the space under the mirror fall into absolute darkness. A costume bag slumped on the floor behind her still holds the crease of the body that was in it. Palette held to pink, black and warm bulb-gold against dim brown shadow, nothing else admitted. Backstage glamour, a little cocky.
