1fairy, solo, non-human, creature, palm-sized, tiny, floating, round body, light-blue body, glowing, bioluminescence, net-shaped tail, simple dot eyes, dot pupils, small arc mouth, happy, cheerful, closed eyes, ^ ^, body stretching, elongated body, arms out, warm light, deep night blue palette, wooden desk, star chart, blank star chart, parchment, oil lamp, orange lamp light, medium shot, from side, from below, no humans, no text, no letters, no watermark, no signature, A medium shot from slightly below and to the side, so the little creature hangs in the upper half of the frame against the dark and the desk falls away beneath it in warm-lit receding planes. The fairy is the only living thing in the picture and there is no one else anywhere in the room: a palm-sized round-bodied creature, roughly the size of a plum, hovering a hand's width above the wooden workshop desk. Its body is a soft light-blue, translucent at the edges and brightest at the core, and it has stretched itself into a happy shape — the round body pulled long and slightly upward, the top drawn out and the lower half tapering, as if it has puffed itself up with delight; the glow has warmed and brightened with the stretch, a paler near-white blue at the crown and a deeper cyan in the taper, and the light bleeds a faint blue halo onto the air around it and a small cool reflection on the desk below. Two simple dots serve as its eyes, set wide and a little high, and a single small arc of a mouth curves up between them; the dots are pressed slightly shut by the pull of the stretch, which is the whole of its expression. Its tiny net-shaped tail trails behind and below the haunches — a fine mesh lattice of light like a knotted miniature net, drifting a little on the air current its own motion has made, each strand of the lattice faintly lit and the gaps between them dark. Beneath it: a wooden workshop desk in a deep night-blue room, grain running left to right, wax and old tool-scuffs catching a warm orange sheen. A blank star chart is spread flat on the desk, an unmarked sheet of pale parchment with a faint hand-drawn grid of coordinates but nothing written on it, its nearest corner curling slightly up off the boards; the fairy's cool glow touches one corner of it while the lamp's orange floods the rest, and the two colors meet in a soft wedge across the paper. A squat oil lamp sits at the far end of the desk, its glass chimney warm and its wick a small yellow-orange flame; it is the only warm source, and beyond the reach of its pool the room falls into an absolute deep night blue — a suggestion of shelved jars and hanging tools dissolving into darkness without a single legible label or mark on any of them. Every surface in the frame is clean and unmarked: the chart blank, the wood bare of writing, the glass and metal free of engravings, the image itself free of any signature, watermark, lettering or symbol. Palette is held to deep night blue and warm orange, with the fairy's light-blue glow as the single cool-bright note between them; the flame's orange lands on the desk's near edge, the chart, and the underside of the creature, while the blue of the room crowds the corners. The lamp's flame throws a small doubled shadow of itself across the boards, and the fairy's glow casts no shadow at all, only that faint blue bloom on the paper. Quiet, warm, enchanted.
