extreme wide shot, wide shot, 1girl, solo, seen from behind, back to viewer, tiny figure, silhouette, standing still, looking up, distant figure, vast grassland, savanna, open plain, tall dry grass, golden grass, horizon line, low horizon, huge sky, colossal floating structure, floating city, airborne architecture, monumental scale, distant structure, god rays, sunbeams, backlighting, atmospheric perspective, hazy distance, dust motes in air, wide-angle lens, deep depth of field, no visible facial features, barren plain, immense sky, epic scale, awe, solitude, muted gold and pale blue palette, cinematic composition The camera sits low and far back, a wide-angle lens taking in an extreme wide shot in which the horizon is pressed down to the lower third of the frame and everything above it is sky. In the near-middle distance a single small figure stands with her back square to the viewer, seen from behind, reduced to a bare dark silhouette with no interior detail — a narrow shape of dark ochre-brown against the pale grass, her outline carrying only the suggestion of shoulders, a head tilted slightly up, and loose hair and a long coat edge lifted on the same breeze that runs through the grass around her ankles. She occupies a very small portion of the frame, less than a tenth of its width, planted on both feet on the plain, her weight settled, one arm hanging, her face entirely turned away so that nothing of it is visible. The grassland fills the lower band of the picture: an unbroken sea of tall dry grass bending in one direction as the wind crosses it, the blades nearest the lens large and individually drawable, the blades beyond collapsing into a soft golden texture that runs to the horizon and vanishes there; the grass is disturbed in a faint flattened trail behind the figure's heels where she has walked in. Above the horizon the sky opens out enormously, pale blue at the zenith washing to a warm dusty cream at the horizon, and far off in the upper-middle distance the floating structure hangs — colossal, symmetrical and unreadable in scale, a tiered mass of towers, terraces, buttresses and pale stone rising from a cloud-wreathed underside, its lower edges dissolved in haze and drifting mist so it appears suspended rather than supported, its highest spires catching the light while its flanks fall into cool shadow. Atmospheric perspective does the scale work: the structure is desaturated toward the sky's own colour, its edges soft, its detail unresolved; the grass at the figure's feet is sharp and saturated. The sun sits low behind the structure's left shoulder as the only light source, so the plain is backlit — the grass tops glow as bright rims while their stems fall dark, the figure's silhouette reads dark against the lit grass, and long soft shadows stream toward the camera across the ground; broad shafts of light break past the structure's edge and slant down through the dusty air, made visible only where they cross the floating motes. Palette is limited to golden ochre, dry straw, pale dusty blue and the cool grey-blue of the structure's shadowed stone; no other hue is admitted. Everything in the frame is smaller than the thing in the sky, and the picture is built to say so — hushed, awestruck, overwhelming.
