character: kagari_atsuko 1girl, solo, kagari_atsuko, brown hair, long hair, asymmetrical bangs, ponytail, red eyes, gothic dress, black gothic dress, burnt skin, scorched skin, charred patches, bloody lips, blood on lips, blood on chin, tears, crying, streaming tears, insane laughing, open mouth, wide grin, crazed expression, half-closed eyes, head tilted back, emerging from the ground, rising out of the ground, from below, dutch angle, low angle, cursed mark, glowing mark, flames, fire, embers, smoke, outstretched arm, clawed hand, torn ground, cracked earth, dark background, high contrast, dramatic lighting, orange and black palette, The camera sits low and close to broken ground, tilted a few degrees off level, looking up at a single figure who is hauling herself up out of a torn hole in the earth. The shot is from below and slightly to her right; her head is thrown back so the underside of her jaw, the long line of her throat and the wet track of tears running down both cheeks catch the firelight. Her brown hair is loose from its ponytail and hangs in matted strands, asymmetrical bangs plastered to her scorched forehead, the tail of it dragging back down into the dark shaft behind her shoulder. Both arms are out: her right hand has punched up through the crust and is clenched shut above her head, knuckles split and blackened; her left forearm is braced flat on the broken lip of the hole, elbow locked, palm pressing down into the dirt so the whole weight of her upper body hangs off that one contact. Her torso is already free of the ground, the skirt of the gothic dress still half-buried and snagged on the collapsed edge of the pit; the dress is black, high-collared, long-sleeved, with tight cuffs and a fitted bodice, the hem and one sleeve burned away into frayed charred rags that crumble at the tips. Skin shows through in patches where the fabric has gone -- the burned skin mottles her right cheek, her neck, the back of her raised hand and a strip along her left collarbone: dull red, tight, glossy in places, ash-grey and cracked at the edges, with fine soot dusting everything it touches. Her lips are split and running red, a bright line of blood at the corner of her mouth and a smear down her chin that the tears have begun to thin into pink streaks. Across her exposed right shoulder blade and up onto the side of her neck sits the cursed mark -- a dark, branching sigil burned into the skin itself, its lines opening into living flame that licks up off her shoulder in ragged tongues of orange and white, throwing sparks and thin smoke upward past her ear. That fire is the only light source: it rakes the right side of her face and her raised arm with hot orange, leaves the left side of her face in deep red-black shadow, and drops a hard, flickering shadow of her own shoulder across her chest. Her eyes are wide and red-rimmed above the tears, pupils shrunk to points, lids half-lowered and unsteady; her mouth is stretched in a full open laugh, upper teeth bared, jaw working, a laugh that has gone past reason. Below, the ground is split into black plates and rubble, the hole's rim crusted with glowing embers that brighten only on their upward faces, and clumps of scorched soil are still sliding back down the shaft behind her thigh. Beyond the fire's reach the background falls away into near-total darkness. Palette held to black, charred brown, ember orange, the red of the blood and the wet shine of tears, nothing else admitted. Manic, blistering.
