A Peaceful Nap with Ash Ketchum

There’s something so heartwarming about seeing Ash Ketchum share such a quiet, tender moment in the grass. The way he watches over his sleeping friend here really captures the bond and trust that makes the Pokémon series so special to me. If this cozy scene warms your heart too, please give it a like and follow for more nostalgic art!

character: misty_(pokemon), ash_ketchum, copyright: pokemon_(anime), pokemon_dppt, pokemon_dppt_(anime) close-up, 1boy, 1girl, pokemon, pokemon anime style, ash ketchum \(pokemon\), misty \(pokemon\), two characters, sitting, lying, lap pillow, headpat, sleeping, closed eyes, closed mouth, smile, blush, looking at another, orange hair, short hair, medium hair, side ponytail, asymmetrical hair, green eyes, blue eyes, black hair, brown eyes, red hat, baseball cap, open jacket, shirt, sleeveless shirt, crop top, bare arms, pants, fingerless gloves, blue shoes, sneakers, tree, grass, outdoors, day, soft light, from side, close-up, profile, head rest, hand on head, dappled light, warm palette A close-up seen from the side, camera low to the grass, so the frame holds only the two heads and shoulders at the base of a broad tree trunk: the boy sits with his back against the bark, and the girl lies on her back with the back of her head resting on his thigh, her face turned up toward him. His legs are folded on the grass under her, one knee raised behind her head; her medium-length orange hair spills across his lap in loose strands, one short lock over her brow, the rest gathered in a low side ponytail that drapes down past his knee and touches the grass. She wears a sleeveless crop top, her bare arms folded loosely on her own stomach, blue sneakers planted flat in the grass at the bottom edge of the frame. He wears his open jacket over a plain shirt, dark pants, and one bare hand — glove off or pushed back — laid flat and still on the crown of her head, fingers slightly curved against the orange hair; the other hand rests on his own knee. Both have their eyes shut and their mouths closed, and both are smiling — hers is the wider one, a soft closed-lip curve, and the blush burns on the tops of both cheeks, strongest on the side the sun reaches. Neither looks at anything: their faces are turned toward each other, hers tilted back toward his chin, and the closed lids carry the contact instead of the eyes. The tree trunk runs as a dark vertical band behind them at the left of the frame; grass fills the foreground in fine blades out of focus at the bottom corner. Sunlight comes from the upper right, broken through leaves above so that small patches of light fall on her cheekbone, on his knuckles, and on one shoulder of his jacket, while the rest of both faces sits in soft green shade. Shadows of leaves move over their clothing, and where his hand presses the hair down it stays flattened under the palm. The palette is warm green grass, deep bark brown, orange hair and the blue of the shoes, nothing colder than the shade itself. Quiet, tender.
