A dynamic low-angle perspective with dramatic foreshortening frames the scene from floor level. In the immediate foreground, a girl with long wavy black hair tipped in bright vermilion orange leans back on both palms across polished cedar engawa planks, thrusting her disproportionately gigantic bare feet straight forward into the center of the frame. Her colossal, smooth soles and defined toes loom gargantuan against the floor, angled outward in blatant, boastful display. She wears a pale pink kimono patterned with geometric hemp-leaf motifs and tied with a checkered obi, a single pink ribbon securing the hair at her temple; her face tilts with an intensely smug expression, her half-lidded pink eyes casting a sidelong, triumphant gaze down her nose alongside a sharp, teasing smirk. Kneeling to her right on the woven tatami mats, a second girl recoils in overwhelming mortification, her entire face flushed vivid crimson from forehead to collar. She wears a dark collared tunic under a wide white haori decorated with butterfly-wing patterns, her purple-tipped black bun fastened with a large turquoise and violet butterfly hair ornament. Her wide purple eyes tremble in absolute shock as they lock onto the massive feet before her, her mouth parted in an embarrassed stammer while her fingers bunch nervously into the cloth over her knees. Crisp afternoon sunlight streams horizontally from the garden on the left, highlighting the contours of the enormous bare feet and casting their massive, unmistakable silhouette directly across the kneeling girl's lap and haori. Playful absurdity.
