The camera sits low on the rooftop gravel, tilted a few degrees off level, looking up past the Scarlet Spider's boots and along his body to the city sky. He stands near the roof's edge on the right third of the frame, weight settled on his left leg with the right knee unlocked, hips canted, one shoulder dropped lower than the other so the silhouette reads as a lean diagonal rather than a squared stance. His arms hang loose and bare outside the sleeveless light blue muscle shirt, which hangs baggy and off one shoulder seam, the big gray spider emblem stretched broad across the chest; the fabric ripples away from his ribs in the rooftop wind. A short cape of pale web-patterned mesh is clipped at the shoulder blades and lifts away from his back, its lowest point snapping in the gusts, not hanging limp. His head is tipped down and to his left, chin clear of the red mask, which ends clean at the upper lip: the smooth red fabric carries no webbing lines at all, only two large white eye lenses set at a slight downward slant, each lens catching a sliver of the sky's glow, and below them his exposed mouth is set in a flat, unimpressed line, the lower lip pressed slightly. Red gloves with black paneling sheath both forearms to just past the elbow, each wrist ringed by a row of gray capsules that click-catch the light as his fingers curl loosely toward his thigh. A red waistband cinches the black spandex at the hips, and red boots with black toe caps and black side flashes plant wide in the gravel.
Perched on top of his right shoulder, at the seam where the baggy shirt meets bare skin, sits the small black widow spider: light blue legs, a black glossy bulb of an abdomen, and a red marking beneath it, body no bigger than his fist, legs gripping the fabric with two front pairs lifted slightly as if testing the wind. Its tiny shape is silhouetted against the pale haze of the sky.
Beneath his boots, a wave of energy pulses outward in concentric rings of hot cyan light, lifting the gravel dust in a thin expanding halo; the rings are brightest where they pass under the soles and fade as they widen across the rooftop, and the light spills upward onto the undersides of his boots, the inner seams of the black spandex, and the underside of his chin and jaw so that the only warm light in the image comes from below. Beyond him the rooftop drops away into a deep city of gray and blue towers, receding in layered haze toward a pale, high, cloud-scraped sky; the buildings shrink and cool with distance, windows reduced to faint grids. Palette: red and black on the figure, a single cold light blue shirt and cape, gray emblem and capsules, then the city's desaturated blue-gray and the cyan energy ring, with nothing else admitted.
Wind direction is visible in the cape's snap and the shirt's roll, and the energy wave leaves a faint scorch ring in the gravel where its leading edge has passed. Low-angle, monumental, charged with held-back motion.
