USS Sea Cliff

Shipgirl AI of USS Sea Cliff, an adopted Efrosian like the famous President Ra-ghoratreii who helped negotiate the Khitomer Accords in 2293 that finally brought some welcome peace between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. She became self-aware in 2350 as the synthetic "soul" of a Shi'Kahr-class light cruiser, one that would serve for an impressive thirty-six years before being paid off, surviving the Dominion War quite well. In 2388, she would help commission a Yoyodyne-built Parliament-class engineer support ship, by which she would head out to help in various "second contact" missions across the Federation; this would keep her well clear of Earth when Frontier Day came, which she had no issues with given that only several would-be Borg were among her crew and they were easily cleared of the nanites within them. Sea Cliff is named somewhat in honour of the town of Leamington, located near Point Peele in Ontario's Essex County; this is a town on the shores of Lake Erie near the southern-most point of the Dominion as a whole. Of course, her namesake River-class frigate was readily adopted by the self-professed "Tomato Capital of Canada"...but there was already a former Wickes-class American destroyer that had been loaned to the United Kingdom as HMS Leamington in 1940, so by the time the Canadian ship was ordered, a new name was needed. That came from Sea Cliff Park, located on the lakeshore itself. And with that, the name would enter history and be perpetuated many decades later in Starfleet. While many would believe Efrosians as a whole would prefer cold climates as their homeworld could be as frigid as Andoria is, the opposite is often true as Sea Cliff herself personifies; the winters in that part of Canada are VERY mild, the vegetable farms are all in well-heated greenhouses and the area is seen as quite the vacation spot for those expats from Efros Delta who live on Earth, never mind the natives who come to visit. Sea Cliff's looks are seen by the town magistrates of Leamington as just an extra selling bonus for vacation tours filled with Efrosians who like the smell of good food and love warm weather.
