Demon Thing

Part of the setting is that this section of space is run by an overlord with a very bronze age mindset. It has caused plenty of problems, as bronze age ruling methods don't work well for an inter-planetary community, but the overlord doesn't really care. Kiricha works for an organization called the Tax Collection Corps, which are tasked with collecting tax and tribute. Many TCC operatives are essentially cargo haulers and bureaucrats, but Kiricha is part of a unit that goes after more special forms of tribute... like slaves... Yeah, she's not a good person in the slightest.
