I think a strength of the reference feature is that it takes the atmosphere of the source illustration into account; however, this can often act as a hindrance. Also, regarding the smoke being exhaled from the mouth: the positioning is slightly off, and in some places, smoke appears to be coming out from behind the pipe itself.
