Annie Whitman AKA Oblivion

Anne Delila "Annie" Whitman The third-most powerful of all reality warpers on Yiziba — and the second-most despised and feared metahuman on the World of the Forge altogether — is the Show-Stopper, Oblivion. Blessed with the standard reality-warping abilities the top tier of metahumans on that planet receive after being Gifted, Oblivion is able to concentrate his/her abilities into BLOCKING the abilities of other metahumans by either mentally shutting down the internal brain links to the Gift crystal which is inserted into a person's mind upon the casting change...or if a more permanent solution is required, s/he could easily BANISH said Gift crystal right into the Great Crystal of Power itself, literally rendering the former Giftee a "norm" by local standards. Because of this, people tend to tippy-toe around the Show-Stopper so as to not arouse his/her wrath. In this incarnation, Oblivion was reborn as Annie Whitman, daughter of a divorced couple who was seen as the "wrong kind of girl" by many of her peers in Sweet Valley until an incident with the Phi Beta Kappa sorority and pledge membership came up. Jessica Wakefield (Rampage) secretly blackballed Annie's application to join the sorority, which didn't earn her any marks from her twin sister Elizabeth (the Academician). Later, Annie tried to join the school cheerleading team, which Jessica also blocked, thinking that someone with Annie's supposed "reputation" (it's false, by the way; the social faux-pas of one's parents do not transfer over, of course) shouldn't be on something so visible. By this time, Moroboshi Tariko was visiting Sweet Valley for "round two" of her local recruiting drive, which she nicknamed "Sweet Valley Summer" of course! Annie came up on the list and was Gifted as Oblivion, which allowed the Sweet Valley Boosters to gain one of the QUADRUMVIRATE OF YIZIBA herself as a member. Jessica definitely sang a much different tune in the wake of THAT...!
