The great beast, covered in overlapping scales of deep crimson and iridescent burgundy, crouches low along a wide flagstone pathway, keeping its massive bulk deliberately contained to avoid disturbing the surrounding flora. Its pale ivory horns sweep back elegantly from its crested brow, and its long, muscular neck curves downward in an arch, bringing its heavy snout mere inches from a lush cluster of velvety red and tea-rose pink blossoms climbing an ornate iron trellis. Large, leathery wings rest neatly folded against its flanks, their dark ridges catching highlights, while its tapering, thorn-ridged tail loops loosely around a classical carved stone fountain in the midground. One foreleg is planted flat on the paving stones, its sharp black claws curled gingerly away from the flowerbed's edge. The dragon's amber eyes with vertical slit pupils look softly upon a single opened bloom, its expression calm and fascinated. In the background, tiered rose bushes in ivory, blush, and scarlet stretch beneath moss-kissed stone balustrades and ivy-wrapped arches. Golden late-afternoon sunlight slants through the floral pergola, casting dappled light across the dragon's reflective scales and illuminating dust motes. A faint exhale from the creature's nostrils stirs the nearby leaves, sending three loose rose petals drifting upward into the warm sunbeams. Rich crimson, forest green, warm cream, and honeyed amber light. Serene wonder.
