Winter Equipment Comparative Trial
The military research department has deployed two volunteers to evaluate competing approaches to winter combat equipment. Subject A favors conventional protection: steel armor, reinforced boots, and sufficient fabric coverage. Subject B believes that confidence, exposed skin, and a strategically placed fur collar provide equivalent thermal protection. Both subjects have been instructed to stand in freezing river water until the researchers can identify a statistically significant difference. Preliminary findings suggest that the river is indeed cold. The equipment committee remains divided. Subject B has requested that the experiment be conducted somewhere warmer.
