A single cable of silk trails from the spinnerets, sags between two rear legs, and vibrates in the air current -- the one object that makes the moving air visible. The only light sources are a high cold moon, which strikes the top of the abdomen and the upper faces of the raised legs in silver-white while leaving their undersides in black, and a faint warmer haze low down that lifts the silhouette of the leg tips against the ground mist; above and behind the creature the night is absolute, with no visible horizon. The palette is confined to black and silver-white with a single muted moss green. Everything is rendered as 2.5D: cel-sharp contour edges over semi-realistic volumetric shading, dimensional depth of field and physical rim light without photorealism. Quiet dread.
