character: murasame_kai_ni_(kancolle), a mature adult woman with long wavy sandy-blonde hair reaching past her waist and fading to soft pink at the tips, small looped side locks tied with dark red ribbons, small red hair clips tucked into her bangs, a black beret with a dark red band worn tilted, HETEROCHROMIA eyes: her right eye on the viewer's left side is a vivid clear red, her left eye on the viewer's right side is a warm amber-brown, the two eye colours clearly different and unmistakable, a small gentle pleading look. OUTFIT EXACTLY AS THE OFFICIAL CHARACTER ART: a fitted sleeveless black high-collar top with red cord laced in a crossed lattice down the chest and a small red bow at the throat; a white ruffled off-shoulder sleeve puff on her right upper arm; a white capelet draped over her left shoulder and upper back with red lining and gold trim, its gold chain hanging down; black harness straps over her bare shoulders; a white waist sash with a small reddish-brown buckle; a short black pleated skirt with a white frilled petticoat showing at the hem; opaque black thigh-high stockings; a white gauze bandage wrap around one thigh; a black holster pouch strapped to the other thigh; dark brown lace-up ankle boots; white gloves on both hands. POSE: she kneels on the wooden floor of the operations room on both knees, hips resting back on her heels, lower legs folded behind her, upper body leaning slightly forward toward the viewer. Both hands are raised in front of her chest, palms pressed together, fingers interlaced and pointing upward, the fingertips trembling faintly with the strain of holding still, elbows tucked close to her body, her shoulders drawn in tight with nervous tension. HER EXPRESSION, an earnest plea with tears held back, a shy girl about to ask a favor and on the very verge of crying: both eyes fully open, wide and luminous and round, glistening with the bright glassy surface of held-back tears so the eyes read as wet-bright, the lower lash line carrying a single small glistening bead of moisture swelling there, a second softened tear highlight along the waterline itself catching the light, the iris sheathed in an intensely wet gleam that fills the full surface of each iris, the corners of her eyes carrying a faint pink flush from the pressure of held-back tears, her lower eyelid faintly swollen and glistening, her lashes clumped lightly with moisture at the tips, bright twin catchlights in each eye mirrored on the wet pool of each iris; her inner brows tilted upward in a small, pleading, slightly trembling curve; her lips small and slightly parted, softly shaped as if the words of a request are about to leave her mouth and the breath is caught in her throat, no teeth showing, no smirk, a faint soft curve at the corners; a soft warm pink blush across her cheeks and the bridge of her nose. She reads as a pure, candid girl on the very edge of tears, fighting to keep them back so she can finish asking for what she needs. Her mouth stays closed apart from the small parting of her lips, her tongue staying inside. ANATOMY: EXACTLY TWO arms and TWO hands, one on each arm, ten fingers individually countable, both hands joined in the single clasp in front of her chest with a faint tremor in the fingertips. The only thing her hands hold is each other. SCENE: bright morning in the operations room of the naval base. Behind her a tall wooden charting table covered in green felt holds naval route maps, signal-flag charts, a brass compass, a half-empty teacup and a neat stack of oil-paper envelopes weighted by a brass paperweight; tall windows to the left pour warm morning sunlight into the room, casting long soft-edged window-frame shadows across the wooden floor while dust motes drift in the beams; on the wall behind her hang a fleet roster clipboard, an analog ship clock and a faded admiralty chart of the home islands pinned with red and blue marker pins. STYLE AND CAMERA: painterly anime illustration, cinematic medium shot, framed from her beret down to her boots, camera positioned slightly above her and angled down about fifteen degrees with the angle low enough that her lifted chin and rising gaze still read clearly, warm key light from the window at camera-left pouring a glistening reflection onto her wet eyes, soft fill, faint rim light along her long hair and the gold chain, shallow depth of field keeping the background charts softly blurred. Mood: warm, tender, openly earnest, a plea. COSTUME CHECK: black sleeveless high-collar top with red crossed chest lacing and red throat bow, white ruffled sleeve puff on the right upper arm, white gold-trimmed capelet on the left shoulder with its hanging gold chain, black shoulder harness, white waist sash, short black pleated skirt with white frilled petticoat, opaque black thigh-highs, white thigh bandage wrap, black thigh holster, dark brown lace-up ankle boots, black beret with red band, red hair clips, white gloves.
