Seen from below at a slight dutch tilt, the frame filled by her head and shoulders so that the enormous ribbon rides the top edge and pushes her face toward the lower third of the picture: the ribbon is a thick, glossy, looped mass of pale pink-red tubing with soft segmented ridges and a trailing tail, tied off-centre on the crown of her head, its long tail curling down past her left temple and brushing the waves of her hair. Her hair is long, light cream, fluffy and wavy, falling in loose spiralled locks that break into soft frizz at the ends, spilling over both shoulders and out of frame at the bottom; one lock loops behind the ribbon's tail. From this low angle her chin lifts only a fraction and her eyes come down to the lens under heavy, level upper lids — half-closed grey eyes, flat and cool, the irises a dull slate grey, the whites narrow slits, her mouth closed and pulled faintly to one side, one brow barely lifted, no smile. She wears a plain dark grey high-collared top, its collar sitting clean at her throat with nothing on it, both ears fully bare and unobstructed. Her arms are loosely crossed below the frame edge, one shoulder dropped lower than the other so her weight sits on her right hip, and the crossing forearm compresses the fabric along her ribs. A single soft light from above and slightly behind picks out the ribbon's glossy highlights and the pale rim along her hair, dropping the front of her face into gentle shade so the grey eyes read flat and unimpressed; the background is an unbroken flat slate-blue-grey field with no objects in it. Cool, quiet, thoroughly unimpressed.
