Eva-ster

Evangelion has a lot of motifs correlating to Christianity (such as the so-called Angels), but Easter is hardly relevant in the franchise's official canon(s) as far as I know; blame me in the comments for barely being an Eva fan if you disagree. This Easter special is also where I tested the "90s Retro-cell" style, since Evangalion is a retro anime made in the 90s, but ended up replicating Yoshiyuki Sadamoto's artstyle (well, kind of). character: souryuu_asuka_langley, ayanami_rei. Retro shojo-style illustration of souryuu_asuka_langley and ayanami_rei sitting together on a wooden bench in an eye-level medium shot, emphasizing their tender friendship. Between them rests a woven basket overflowing with colorful chocolate Easter eggs. Asuka, with long brown hair and blue eyes, wears a matching school uniform of a blue suspender skirt, short-sleeved white blouse, and red ribbon. Beside her, Rei, with short light blue hair and red eyes, dons the identical uniform. Grassy fields dotted with scattered trees form the serene background. Cute cel-shaded anime style with strong hand-drawn animation vibes, flat high-contrast colors, clean black outlines, simple shadows mimicking classic TV anime frames, vibrant palette dominated by blues, greens, and warm egg hues.
