Kayln Pagnacco

Member of the First Assault Squadron (SALRON One), the Questor-only special missions unit created by then-Lieutenant Colonel Roy Jameston in the 2050s to deal with the aftereffects of the Eugenics War and the Second American Civil War on Canada before and after First Contact with Vulcan in 2063. Said unit would remain together through the final phase of the Third World War, the so-called "Optimum War" that raged over Earth for a decade, ending in the battle for Space Station Perfection on 4 July 2079. In that fight, the leaders of the Optimum Movement for the Purification of Humanity (a Khmer Rouge-like organization who wished to remove the "non-optimal" from Terran society) under Colonel Phillip Green fled the planet after unleashing a final act of "purification" which unleashed the Post-Atomic Horror. During that conflict (not discovered until much later), thousands of supporters of the Optimum would flee the planet via sleeper ships that took them to planets like Phäeton and beyond. In that last battle, Jameston and her force would disappear as well...though a comatose Jameston would be found by a Vulcan survey ship three years later, she then being moved to the Khal Fortress on Vulcan where she would rebuild her life as Roy Pannam. The remainder of her unit would be allowed to "escape" their fate via the Guardian of Forever, travelling forward through time to the Battle of Frontier Day in 2401, where they helped Jameston recover her memories, then they moved to free the large Starfleet contingent over Earth from Borg and Changeling attempts at seizing control to destroy Earth and gut the Federation from within. While the veterans of USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D would confront the Borg Queen directly over Jupiter's Great Red Spot, the majority of SALRON One — supported by hundreds of starships built by Port Weller Spacedocks that avoided the issue with the upgraded Borderlands virtual reality program thanks to their being directly touched by "Race Zero" (as the Collective derisively called Questors as a whole) — would sweep in to help ensure no hidden traps were set up by the possessed junior officers and servicemen, plus kill off rogue Changelings (who had been separated from the Great Link for an inordinately long period of time) to ensure another Dominion War would be launched. Pagnacco is a native of Cambridge in southwest Ontario on the Grand River. Part-Onöndowa'ga꞉' (Seneca) though it doesn't show on her skin, she was trained in the traditional ways of the warrior when she was a child. By the time she became of age, she joined her hometown's resident Militia unit, the Royal Highland Fusiliers of Canada. It was around this time that the Augment Council controlled by Khan Noonien Singh and his allies (who had effectively torched off the Second American Civil War with the Washington Riot of 6 January 2020) began to forcibly "recruit" members of the Six Nations to form a "militia of retribution" against the Canadian federal government. On seeing what happened to her friends and how being subjected to a hacked version of the augmentation that made Noonien Singh and his allies so deadly, Pagnacco switched to the Regular Force, breezing through training to eventually become a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment. Along the way, she would make the acquaintance of a certain major who had just finished a tour with Joint Task Force 2, Roy Jameston. In 2045, Jameston gave Pagnacco a very unique offer...and once she crossed into the Fold, the Cambridge native went scalp-hunting. Of course, at that time, the barest concept of SALRON One wasn't even spoken of in secret; what historians would later call the Eugenics War phase of World War Three was heating up at that time and the Augments were finding themselves on the back foot on all fronts. Pagnacco often served as Jameston's yeoman of signals during her team raids on Noonien Singh's allies in Canada and America, they often backing up normal special operations forces troops such as the Royal Canadian Navy's MTOG teams under the banner of HMC Ships Bytown, Stadacona, Naden and Cornwallis as they worked with loyalist American forces to restore order. They succeeded in the end and Pagnacco (along with Jameston's other sister Questors) would fade into the background until the issue with Professor Zefram Cochrane warp drive research in the late 2050s required a more formal deployment in the field. Even if they were unofficial still, the original founders of SALRON One (about 150 all ranks) would deploy to Montana and be there to help ensure a successful First Contact with natives of the planet Vulcan...thanks to the intervention of a time-travelling starship from the XXIV Century named Enterprise! Having come into the future thanks to the SI of USS Cornwallis, Pagnacco would follow her troop boss Warrant Officer Mary Watson of Welland, Sergeant Leah McKee of the Hamilton neighbourhood of Ancaster and Corporal Heather Davidson of Stoney Creek (east of downtown Hamilton) into helping clear out the affected starships and their crews from Borg domination and Changeling infiltration. During that time, they met up with many Port Weller-created shipgirls, all of whom had been raised on tales of this elite force and what they did during the Optimum War from 2069-2079. One of them was the SI of USS Galt, namesake of the central part of Pagnacco's old hometown; to say that the young destroyer shipgirl got an instant crush of the infanteer-turned-special forces assaulter is putting it lightly. Once she was demobilized, Pagnacco took up residence at the Six Nations reserve south of Brantford to unwind and get her bearings back. Naturally, Galt is keeping a good eye on her...!
