Kiryū Kazuma AKA Tekiya

The dark hero of the Ryū no Gatoku (AKA Yakuza) video game series, Kiryū Kazuma, shown here after his Gifting as the Grand Poobah of the Golden Springs, Tekiya. One of the older people to have been Gifted in the current age of metahumans, the native of Yokohama would gain his ki-manipulation powers and enhanced ISS (Invulnerability, Super-Strength and Super-Speed) powers (he can't fly), plus very enhanced fighting skills — never mind the sheer volume of memories his many past-selves experienced when they lived over the two millennia of the Great Show of Life — thanks to Isaac Thomas (Doctor Renaissance) in the wake of the events depicted in Ryū ga Gotoku 4: Densetsu o Tsugu Mono (around 2010 in TEOTC time). Since that time, he has remained as the wakagashira of the Tōjō Clan, an effective roving troubleshooter making sure things in the Japanese underworld don't go TOO crazy...which, in the growing age of metahumans and parahumans, is a very ugly thing indeed. Kazuma would become involved with Isaac's project concerning the planet Remnant shortly after the first local huntresses became Gifted such as Penny Polendina (Operator) and Pyrrha Nikos (Polarity). He would gladly test Hazel Reinhart before the latter would get the full reveal scene of Salem's goals concerning the third world of Oum, then would gladly step in during other occasions when he could spare the time. During this period, he would befriend a lot of the Remnantian equivalent of the local crime syndicates, including Gifted people such as Neopolitan (Danzatrice). And while the Ballerina of the Final Darkness finds herself VERY attracted to the older man, Kazuma keeps her at arms length; he knows he'll be sought after by MANY female Yizibajohei when "nesting season" comes, but doesn't want to commit to any permanent relationship with a woman from another planet who has her own desires and interests based there, not on Earth. Duty is heavier than a mountain, indeed...!
