A narrow dead-end side alley at night in an old district of a foreign city, brick walls pressing in from both sides, the far end a blank brick wall, wet cobblestone, streetlamps as soft orange glows in thick fog behind. A young woman tourist — early 20s, dark hair in a loose half-torn ponytail, beige trench coat, sweater, jeans, sneakers, crossbody bag crushed against the wall — is cornered at the dead end, her back pressed flat against the blank brick wall, palms flat on the bricks behind her, knees bent, body pinned and shrinking against the wall, face turned toward the alley entrance in absolute despair: eyes wide and wet with tears, mouth open in a hopeless scream, white breath vapor bursting, strands of hair plastered to her cheek, the phone with its glowing map app slipping from her fingers and falling. A trail of small glowing yellow dots on the cobblestones runs straight down the alley and right up to her feet. Blocking the alley entrance, filling it wall to wall, a giant glossy bright-yellow sphere character rolls in: huge wedge-shaped mouth open wide, lined with a single neat row of flat, square, blunt human incisor teeth — plain ordinary human front teeth with flat chewing surfaces, even and rectangular like dentures — thick ropes of saliva dripping and swinging from its jaws, drool splattering the wet cobblestones, two simple round cartoon eyes bulging with goofy excitement, its round body perfectly plain, smooth and glossy like a giant yellow billiard ball, uniform yellow from top to bottom. Behind it, a second identical giant yellow sphere looms barely visible in the fog at the alley mouth, wedge mouth already open. Volumetric fog, reflections on wet stone, absurd dark-comedy chase energy, true photographic realism, film still.
