Just a Little Closer to You - Vocaloid 神威がくぽx巡音ルカ

💜💗💜💗💜 Story 💗💜💗💜💗 Deep in the forest, an ancient shrine was bathed in the gentle glow of moonlight as night descended. Far from human towns, the mountains were home to many ancient spirit trees whose names had long since been forgotten by time. Silver moonlight filtered through the branches and fell upon moss-covered stone steps. Fireflies occasionally rose from the grass, drifting slowly toward distant streams. The mountain breeze carried the fragrance of flowers and herbs, passing through the bells hanging beneath the eaves and producing clear, distant chimes. Two extraordinary yokai lived in the shrine. One was Kamui Gakupo, a cat yokai. He had vivid purple hair, most of which he usually tied back, while two long locks fell in front of his ears and rested over his shoulders. His purple eyes were always calm and deep. A pair of soft cat ears occasionally appeared atop his head, and the long purple tail behind him would sway gently whenever he was in a good mood. The other was Megurine Luka, a fox yokai. She had long, soft pink hair and clear blue eyes that looked especially beautiful beneath the moonlight. Whenever she revealed her true fox form, fluffy fox tails appeared behind her, accompanied by a pair of soft pink fox ears. Her spiritual power was both gentle and formidable. She could manipulate illusions resembling moonlight and even make withered flowers bloom again with a touch of her fingertips. Cats and foxes were, by nature, two very different kinds of yokai. Yet somehow, they had fallen in love. And they had been together for a long time. Tonight, there were no duties to attend to in the shrine and no other yokai coming to visit. Gakupo had put away some of the spiritual power he usually used to maintain his human appearance, allowing a pair of purple cat ears to emerge naturally from his hair. He lounged lazily against the soft bedding. Luka sat beside him, holding a cup of freshly brewed flower tea. “Gakupo.” “Hmm?” “Come a little closer.” The cat yokai opened his eyes after resting them for a moment, a faint smile appearing on his lips. “I’m already sitting right beside you.” “I know.” Luka set her teacup aside and reached out to him, her blue eyes sparkling with a hint of mischief. “But I want to be even closer.” Gakupo looked at her without asking any further questions. He simply opened his arms. A moment later, Luka nestled into his embrace. He wrapped his arms around her waist, allowing her to settle comfortably against his chest. Her pink hair spilled over his shoulder, its delicate fragrance lingering around him. Her fox tails slowly unfurled and rested gently across their laps. Gakupo lowered his head and rested his chin on top of her hair. “Are you satisfied now?” “Not quite.” “What’s still missing?” Luka did not answer. Instead, she tilted her face upward and placed a gentle kiss beneath his chin. The kiss was as light as a flower petal touching the surface of a pond. Gakupo paused for a moment before laughing softly. He lowered his head to kiss her forehead, gently stroking her long hair until his hand came to rest beside her ear. Then, he lightly rubbed one of her fox ears. Luka's ear immediately flattened backward. “You can't touch there without warning me.” “I'm sorry.” He apologized, but the amusement in his eyes made it obvious that he was enjoying himself. Luka saw right through him. She reached up and pinched one of his cat ears. “Then does this make us even?” Gakupo's cat ears immediately stood straight up. He lowered his gaze toward her, and she finally burst into laughter. The two yokai continued cuddling until a faint meow came from the other side of the room. “Meow.” A small purple cat was sitting beside the low table. It had beautiful purple fur, rounded ears, and a pair of clear purple eyes. A little tuft of fluffy fur adorned the tip of its tail. The cat looked up at the embracing couple before walking slowly onto the tatami and gracefully jumping into Luka's arms. It was Gakupo's familiar. Normally, it followed its master in the form of a spiritual entity, watching over the shrine's protective barrier and occasionally delivering messages for Gakupo. However, there were no tasks that needed its attention tonight, so it had decided to take on the form of an ordinary little cat and enjoy a rare moment of leisure. Luka looked down at the cat in her arms, and her eyes immediately lit up. “Oh, you've taken this form today, too.” The little cat raised its head and affectionately rubbed against her wrist. She immediately gathered it into her arms, letting it settle comfortably in the crook of her elbow. Her soft fingertips gently scratched beneath its chin, and the cat closed its eyes, purring contentedly. “So well-behaved.” Luka's voice grew even softer. She lowered her head to kiss the little cat on its forehead, then carefully smoothed the slightly ruffled fur around its ears. The cat clearly enjoyed the attention. It even placed its front paws on her arm and burrowed deeper into her embrace. Watching his familiar abandon itself to his beloved's arms without hesitation, Gakupo raised an eyebrow. “Looks like it really likes you.” “Is there anything wrong with that?” “Of course not.” He reached out to stroke the little cat's head. “It's just that when I ask it to do something, it isn't nearly this obedient.” The little cat seemed to understand its master's complaint. It opened its eyes, glanced at him, and then casually buried its face in Luka's arms. Gakupo chuckled. “Even you know how to choose the better option.” “That's because I'll take good care of it.” Luka said this while drawing the little cat closer to her chest. “Besides, it's my little cat now.” “Only for tonight?” “If it wants to, it can come find me every day.” The little cat immediately let out a meow, as though eagerly accepting her invitation. Gakupo watched her happy expression, and the smile in his eyes deepened without him even realizing it. At that moment, another familiar quietly appeared. The moonlight beside the window flickered slightly, and a small pink fox emerged from a translucent glow of spiritual energy. It had soft pink fur, pointed ears, and a pair of beautiful blue eyes. Its fluffy tail swayed gently as it approached, its footsteps so quiet that they were almost inaudible. It was Luka's familiar. Normally, it helped its mistress investigate spiritual disturbances in distant places. Occasionally, it also used illusions to play tricks on visiting yokai. Tonight, however, it clearly had no intention of performing any duties either. The little fox walked up to Gakupo and looked up at him for a moment. Gakupo extended his hand. “Come here.” The little fox immediately approached and placed its front paws on his knee. He gently lifted it into his arms, allowing it to rest in the crook of his elbow before using his other hand to smooth the fur along its back. The little fox closed its eyes comfortably. Its tail curled around his wrist as it affectionately rubbed against his chest. “Your familiar is quite good at being affectionate, too.” Gakupo looked up at Luka. “It isn't usually this clingy.” Luka smiled brightly while holding the little cat. “That's because you're holding it.” “So I'm the reason?” “Not a problem. It's one of your good qualities.” Gakupo let out a low laugh. “In that case, I'll do my best to maintain this particular quality.” He held the little fox more securely and lowered his head, allowing it to nuzzle his cheek. The pink fox seemed satisfied. It even stuck out its tongue and gave his chin a gentle lick. This time, Luka couldn't help laughing. “It likes you.” “I can tell.” “Then you'd better treat it well.” “Understood.” Gakupo answered with such seriousness that it sounded as though he had just accepted an important mission. Luka laughed and leaned back against his shoulder. And so, a wonderfully heartwarming scene unfolded inside the room. Luka held Gakupo's little purple cat, while Gakupo held Luka's little pink fox. They sat close together, their shoulders touching as they each gently stroked the familiar in their arms. The little cat occasionally lifted its head to nuzzle Luka's chin, while the little fox loved resting its head on Gakupo's wrist. All four seemed thoroughly familiar with one another, not the slightest bit uncomfortable. After a while, Luka noticed that the little cat in her arms had fallen asleep. It had curled into a tiny ball, its front paws tucked against its chest and its tail wrapped gently around its body. Its purring was quiet and rhythmic. She instinctively became more careful with her movements. “Gakupo, it's asleep.” “Mm.” “Let's not wake it.” “Alright.” Gakupo lowered his voice as well. He gently settled the little fox on his lap, allowing it to rest peacefully just like the little cat. However, Luka's familiar seemed reluctant to remain too far from its master. It shifted closer, placed its front paws on Gakupo's hand, and gently stretched its tail toward Luka. Seeing this, Luka extended one finger and let the fox sniff it. The little fox immediately leaned forward and affectionately touched its nose to her fingertip. “Does it want to play with me, too?” “Perhaps it's just making sure you're still here.” Gakupo's voice was soft. Luka looked up at him. “What about you?” “Me?” “Do you also want to make sure I'm still here?” Gakupo did not answer immediately. He simply looked into her eyes. After a brief moment, he reached out with his free hand and gently took hers. “Yes.” His answer was so straightforward that Luka was momentarily taken aback. Gakupo was always composed and never hesitated to show her affection, but he rarely expressed his attachment so directly. “Even though I see you every day, I still want to make sure.” He gently rubbed his thumb across her knuckles. “I want to know whether you've had a good day, whether anything has upset you, and whether you'll still want to come and rest beside me like this tonight.” Luka listened quietly, feeling as though warm spring water were flowing through her heart. She carefully adjusted the little cat in her arms to keep it comfortable, then leaned closer to Gakupo until their foreheads gently touched. “Then you can always ask me directly from now on.” “Alright.” “I'll ask you, too.” “Alright.” “If you're unhappy, tell me. If you're tired, you can come to me as well.” Gakupo gazed at her, her reflection mirrored in his purple eyes. “I will.” Luka smiled and kissed him. It was a gentle, brief kiss, one that made no urgent demands. Instead, it quietly placed all the affection hidden within their words into each other's hands. When they parted, Gakupo still hadn't released her hand. He looked at her and asked softly, “Would you like to be a little closer?” Luka pretended to consider the question for a moment. “Mm-hmm. I would.” Gakupo wrapped an arm around her shoulders, allowing her to nestle against him along with the little cat in her arms. He adjusted his position slightly to make sure the cat wouldn't be squeezed, then settled the little fox comfortably across their joined laps. Luka rested against his chest, listening to his steady heartbeat. “This is perfect.” “Really?” “Really.” She closed her eyes, a faint smile resting on her lips. “Because you're here, and they're here, too.” Gakupo lowered his head and kissed the top of her hair. “They'll still be here tomorrow.” “Even if something happens tomorrow?” “Even if something happens tomorrow.” He did not make any grand, extravagant promises. He simply held her hand a little more tightly. For two yokai who had lived through long ages, there were too many things in the world that changed with time. Forests grew and transformed, rivers changed their courses, and familiar towns could become unrecognizable after several hundred years. Yet whenever they returned to this shrine, whenever night settled over its familiar eaves, they could still hold one another close and entrust their weariness to each other. That was the everyday life they treasured most. Outside, the wind gently swept past, and the bells beneath the eaves chimed once again. Luka opened her eyes and discovered that Gakupo was looking down at her. “What's wrong?” “Nothing.” He brushed a stray lock of hair behind her ear. “I just think tonight is wonderful.” Luka's gaze softened. “I feel the same way.” She reached up and lightly touched his cat ears. This time, Gakupo didn't move away. Instead, he deliberately lowered his head a little, making it easier for her to stroke them. Luka couldn't help laughing. “Our cat yokai lord is being very well-behaved tonight.” “Then may I ask the fox yokai lady for a little reward?” “What kind of reward?” Gakupo didn't answer. He simply lowered his head slightly. Luka looked at him and immediately understood what he meant. She smiled and leaned forward, placing a kiss on his lips. “Is this enough?” “Barely.” “Barely?” “I'd be even more satisfied with another one.” Luka laughed, but she kissed him again anyway. This time, she didn't hurry to pull away. Instead, she gently rested her hand against his cheek until Gakupo's eyes held nothing but her smiling face. Neither of them noticed that the little cat, which had been sleeping soundly, had quietly opened one eye. It looked at the two of them, apparently deciding that this was nothing out of the ordinary, and soon closed its eye again. The little fox also buried its head in the crook of Gakupo's arm and drifted comfortably to sleep. And so, the four souls who cherished one another continued to enjoy the quiet night, accompanied by moonlight and the gentle breeze. The cat yokai and the fox yokai cuddled together, each holding the familiar most precious to the other. There were no outside disturbances, and they had nothing to prove to anyone. As long as they could still see each other when they woke the next morning, as long as they could still reach out and feel the familiar warmth of one another, that alone was the finest gift time could offer them.
