Halloween Cat Thieves - Cats & Vocaloid 神威がくぽx巡音ルカ

💜💗💜💗💜 Story 💗💜💗💜💗 On Halloween night, the entire city was immersed in a festive atmosphere. The streets were lined with glowing jack-o'-lanterns, while shop windows displayed decorations of witches, vampires, and skeletons. Colorful lights stretched along the rooftops, transforming the familiar streets into something straight out of a fairy tale. Parade floats moved slowly to the rhythm of lively music, and people dressed in all kinds of costumes greeted one another. Children darted through the crowds with candy bags in their hands, their cheerful laughter occasionally rising above the music. Kamui Gakupo and Megurine Luka were among the crowds. The two had originally planned to enjoy the parade at a leisurely pace and visit the nearby market afterward. Luka was always enthusiastic about Halloween festivities. Whenever she spotted an interesting decoration or performance along the way, she would tug Gakupo along to admire it with her. “Gakupo, look over there!” Luka suddenly tugged at his sleeve and pointed toward a parade float ahead. A gigantic pumpkin float was slowly making its way down the street. The pumpkin decorations on the float actually swayed along with the music, while several performers dressed as little elves waved to the crowd from above. Gakupo followed her gaze. “It seems to be quite popular.” “It's not just popular. It's adorable, isn't it? Look at that pumpkin! It just winked at a little kid!” “Perhaps there's a staff member operating it from inside.” “You really know how to ruin the atmosphere.” Luka shot him a playful glare, laughing as she did so. Gakupo couldn't help smiling either. He had never been particularly enthusiastic about holiday celebrations, but seeing Luka enjoy herself made the entire outing worthwhile. “All right. Let's pretend it really can wink.” “That's more like it.” Luka nodded in satisfaction before turning her attention back to the parade. The two continued along the street. Occasionally, someone handed them candy, and Luka would happily thank them. Whenever they encountered a particularly creative costume, she would stop to admire it. Gakupo stayed beside her, occasionally reminding her to watch out for people approaching from the opposite direction. Just then, a group of children came running toward them, chasing a rolling pumpkin ball. The crowd became slightly congested, and Luka instinctively stepped aside to avoid them. Her shoulder lightly brushed against Gakupo's arm. “Sorry. I almost bumped into you.” “It's fine. Did anyone step on your foot?” “No, I'm okay.” Luka was about to continue walking when she suddenly felt something loosen around her neck. She froze for a moment and reached up to touch it. Her necklace was gone. “Huh?” She immediately stopped and searched the ground around her. “What happened?” Gakupo asked. “My necklace fell off!” Gakupo immediately joined her in searching for it. They looked along the path they had just taken, but the parade was still moving forward, and people kept walking past them. Finding such a small object in the middle of the crowd was far from easy. Luka was anxiously scanning the ground when a dark shadow suddenly darted across her field of vision. It was a black cat. The cat slipped nimbly out from between the parade participants. The moment Luka noticed what it was carrying in its mouth, she recognized it immediately. “Wait! That's my necklace!” The black cat paused and glanced back at her. Its amber eyes gleamed beneath the light of the jack-o'-lanterns. It didn't seem frightened by Luka's shout. Instead, it flicked its tail, turned around, and darted toward the other side of the street. “It took it!” Luka cried in disbelief. She immediately ran after it. “Luka, wait!” Gakupo hurried after her, quickly weaving through the crowd. The black cat was astonishingly agile. It slipped between people's feet, leaped onto a low wall, and then sprang lightly down from a stack of wooden crates decorated with pumpkins. Even with the necklace in its mouth, its speed didn't seem to suffer at all. Luka chased after it, doing her best to avoid the obstacles along the way. “Stop right there!” The black cat paid no attention to her. When it turned a corner, it even glanced back to make sure the two were still following before speeding up again. “Gakupo! Do you think it's doing this on purpose?” “It's certainly possible.” “Who ever heard of a cat being this outrageous?” “Perhaps it simply thinks this is fun.” “This isn't fun at all!” Luka answered indignantly, but she didn't slow down. Watching her frantic pursuit, Gakupo found the situation somewhat absurd. Nevertheless, he continued to follow her closely. He knew the necklace was important to Luka, and he had no intention of letting her chase a strange cat into an unfamiliar area alone. Ahead of them was a flight of steps leading toward the old part of the city. The black cat leaped up without hesitation. Luka followed, but in her haste, she nearly missed a step. Gakupo immediately caught her by the arm and steadied her before letting go once she had regained her balance. “Be careful.” “But it's getting away!” “I can see that. First, make sure you don't fall.” His voice carried a hint of helplessness, but there was no real scolding in it. Luka glanced up at him and nodded quickly. “All right. I'll be careful.” The two continued up the steps. At the top was a quieter street. Halloween decorations were still everywhere, with black flags hanging beneath the eaves, pumpkins lining the windowsills, and several scarecrows wearing pointed hats standing beside the walls. However, compared with the main street, there were far fewer people here. The black cat flashed into view ahead of them before disappearing into a narrow alley. “There it goes!” Luka followed without hesitation. Gakupo entered the alley behind her, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings. Old stone buildings stood on either side of the narrow passage. The ground was paved with uneven cobblestones, and a row of jack-o'-lanterns cast faint light along the walls. Occasionally, strange sounds drifted from deeper within the alley, but there was no sign of anyone else. The black cat was still running ahead. Luka kept her eyes fixed on it, thinking only about getting her belongings back. “Just wait until I catch you! We're going to have a serious conversation!” Hearing this, Gakupo let out a quiet laugh. “What exactly are you planning to discuss with a cat?” “At the very least, I want to ask why it stole my things!” “I hope it's willing to answer.” “Stop laughing at me!” Luka turned to glare at him, only to discover that his eyes were filled with amusement. “I'm not laughing.” “You obviously are!” “All right. I admit it.” Gakupo's straightforward response left her momentarily speechless. She could only turn back toward the black cat and continue the chase. Just then, a soft meow came from somewhere nearby. “Meow.” Gakupo turned his head. A gray-and-white cat poked its head out from behind a wooden barrel. It looked toward the black cat running ahead, then glanced at the two people chasing it. A moment later, it nimbly jumped onto a low wall. “Another cat?” Luka noticed it too. The gray-and-white cat didn't stop. It ran swiftly along the wall, following the direction in which the black cat had disappeared. Luka stared in surprise. “Do they know each other?” “They seem to be companions.” “Does that mean the black cat has an accomplice?” Before she could say anything more, a rustling sound came from the other side of the alley. An orange cat emerged from behind a stack of wooden crates. It stretched lazily at first, then looked ahead as though it had discovered something interesting. The next moment, it perked up and hurried after the others. Immediately afterward, a black-and-white cat appeared on the rooftop. It peered down from above, following the movements of the other cats. Then it leaped onto the roof of the neighboring building and began running lightly toward the same direction. Luka gradually slowed down. “Gakupo…” “Hmm?” “Why are there suddenly so many cats?” Gakupo looked around. The alley, which had seemed nearly empty moments ago, was now filling with cats. Some poked their heads out from behind walls, others perched on windowsills, and several moved along the rooftops, seemingly keeping an eye on the black cat ahead. More strangely, they all appeared to share the same objective. Whenever the black cat turned a corner, the others followed without hesitation. Occasionally, they called out to one another as though exchanging messages that only they could understand. “I don't know either,” Gakupo replied. “But they don't look as though they're just passing by.” Luka blinked. “Do you mean they're all together?” “At least, that's what it looks like.” “So we're chasing one cat, and somehow we've stumbled into a group activity for cats?” “Perhaps.” Luka was at a loss for words. She had originally wanted nothing more than to enjoy the Halloween parade. Instead, she had lost her necklace, encountered a black cat that stole other people's belongings, and somehow discovered an entire group of cats that seemed to be acting together. This was far beyond anything she had expected from the evening. Before she could gather her thoughts, a series of hurried meows suddenly came from ahead. The black cat had reached the far end of the alley. It paused on top of a low wall, still holding Luka's necklace in its mouth. It looked back, seemingly checking whether its companions had caught up. The gray-and-white cat soon arrived beside it. The orange cat emerged from another alley. Then two more cats jumped down from the rooftops and joined them. Within moments, the cats that had been scattered throughout the area had gathered together. Luka's eyes widened. “They're actually gathering!” Gakupo also began to realize that the situation was becoming increasingly strange. The cats weren't scattering in fear despite being chased. Instead, they gathered in a seemingly coordinated formation, as though following some unspoken order. The black cat remained at the front, almost as if it were the leader of the group. When it started running again, the others immediately followed. “Wait! Where are you taking us?” Luka hurried after them. Gakupo stayed beside her, keeping an eye on the surrounding alleyways. The farther they went, the more unfamiliar the streets became. The music from the Halloween parade gradually faded into the distance. Occasionally, cats darted past them. One white cat even jumped down from a windowsill and joined the group without hesitation. Luka couldn't help glancing back at Gakupo. “Gakupo, I'm starting to think something truly extraordinary is going to happen tonight.” “Didn't you say earlier that you hoped to encounter some magic?” “I meant romantic magic! Not magic that involves chasing cats!” Gakupo chuckled softly. “Then perhaps we should find out where these cats are taking us first.” “That's assuming they'll give me my necklace back!” “On that point, I completely agree.” He reached for Luka's hand, holding it to make sure they wouldn't get separated during the chase. Luka glanced down at their joined hands and felt a little more at ease. Whatever lay ahead, she wasn't afraid as long as Gakupo was by her side. She turned her attention forward again. The cats had already passed another corner and were racing deeper into the streets. The black cat remained clearly visible at the front, the necklace in its mouth occasionally shifting as it ran, yet never falling. “This time, I'm definitely not letting it get away!” Luka quickened her pace. Gakupo ran alongside her. Unbeknownst to them, another cat wearing a tiny pumpkin decoration was quietly peeking over the edge of a rooftop. It watched the two figures below, swishing its tail a few times before letting out a short meow. A reply immediately came from somewhere in the distance. Several more feline silhouettes emerged from the shadows, following the group ahead before disappearing into the depths of the alleyways. The Halloween night remained as lively as ever. But for Gakupo and Luka, the parade had long since turned into an unexpected chase. Where exactly was the black cat taking the necklace? Why were its companions appearing one after another? And how many more cats were waiting for them in the hidden corners of the city? Luka stared at the black cat as it turned another corner, tightening her grip on Gakupo's hand. Neither of them stopped. Together, they continued following the cats, gradually leaving the lights of the Halloween parade behind. When they would finally catch up with the black cat and reclaim the necklace, and what else they might encounter during this peculiar chase, remained a mystery.
