The single streetlamp overhead is the key, cool white from above and behind the figures, rimming the fedora brim, the twin tails, the astronaut's shoulders; the jack-o'-lantern supplies the warm fill from below left, so the metal of the outstretched arms shows a cool top highlight and a hot underglow at once, and each figure throws a long soft shadow back toward the viewer across the wet street. Colour is carried by the red dress, the orange bucket and gourds, and the beige coat against the blue-black night, with the children's costumes kept neutral. Playful, warm, a little chaotic.
