character: medb_(fate), scathach_(fate) 2girls, scathach_(fate), medb_(fate), long hair, very long hair, purple hair, red eyes, purple kimono, black fur trim, fur collar, pink hair, traditional japanese hairstyle, hair ornament, white kimono, white fur trim, fur trim all over, one leg out, bare leg, fuzzy thighhighs, thighhighs, sitting, seiza, legs folded to one side, tatami, shinto shrine, altar, in front of altar, offering box, sakaki branches, shimenawa, hanging lanterns, low angle, from below, cowboy shot, looking at another, light smile, half-closed eyes, dutch angle, warm lantern light, evening, depth of field Camera looks up from just above the tatami in a slight dutch tilt, so the two women sit high in the frame against the dim shrine interior. Scathach kneels in seiza on the left, weight settled back on her heels, spine straight, both hands resting one over the other on her thighs; her purple kimono falls in a heavy column to the tatami, and the black fur collar rides thick and glossy around her neck, swallowing her jawline. Her very long purple hair pours over her shoulders and pools on the mat behind her hips, strands catching the lantern glow. She turns her head to the right, red eyes sliding sideways toward her companion, one corner of her mouth lifted in a faint closed-lip smile. Medb sits on the right, not in seiza but dropped with her weight on her right hip, left leg folded under and her right leg stretched out and angled toward the camera so the extended bare leg and its fuzzy thigh-high — soft, napped, pale pink — lead the eye into the foreground. Her white kimono is shaggy with fur trimming along every edge: collar, sleeve hems, front overlap and hem, so the garment reads as a fluffy silhouette. Her pink hair is dressed in a traditional style, gathered up and back off her forehead. She leans her shoulder slightly toward Scathach, yellow-brown eyes flicking toward her, a small lopsided smirk on her lips, chin dipped. Between them on the tatami lies a low wooden offering box, its slatted top worn smooth at the slot; behind and above, the shrine altar rises in shadow, framed by a shimenawa rope, white paper streamers, and branches of sakaki in a bronze vase. Warm lantern light from the left side of frame is the only source: it rims the fur collars with a soft halo, drops amber highlights along the polished wood of the altar and the bridge of Scathach's nose, and sinks the far wall into deep brown darkness. Palette is plum purple, cream white, blush pink and lantern amber against charcoal shadow, nothing else. The light reveals the nap of both furs differently — Scathach's black fur drinks the light into a dense dark sheen, Medb's white fur scatters it into a fuzzy glow. Quiet, intimate, faintly conspiratorial.
