Viewed from an extreme low angle in a forced perspective close-up, the camera looks steeply upward from the pavement directly in front of an eerie female figure. The figure stands rigidly with her legs locked straight and both bare, bluish-pale feet planted flat against the wet ground, inner soles pressed together and toes tipped with glossy black nail polish. Despite her stiff, vertical stance, her upper torso leans unnaturally forward toward the viewer, her head tilted sharply to the side. Her outstretched right hand projects dramatically into the foreground with palm upturned toward the viewer, each fingernail coated in solid black polish. Her other hand grips the shaft of a transparent vinyl umbrella, tilting its see-through canopy forward over the viewer to shield them from the downpour. She is clad in a stark white, loose-fitting turtleneck ghost dress that drapes around her immense bust and extends downward in heavy folds, layered beneath an oversized, loose yellow kindergarten smock apron trimmed with delicate pink frills along the edges. The yellow fabric is patterned with cheerful stamped graphics of beaming suns, multicolored rainbows, and round teddy bears. Cascading from her crown, extremely long, ink-black straight hair drops in an uninterrupted, impenetrable curtain across the entirety of her tilted head, completely masking her eyes, nose, cheeks, and mouth from sight. The scene is set on a narrow, pitch-dark Japanese alleyway walled in by dimly outlined urban facades beneath heavy, roiling thunderclouds. Dense, torrential rain descends in sharp, brilliant white linear slashes, violently splashing against the curved clear plastic of the tilted umbrella canopy and atomizing into a fine, humid mist hovering above the ground. The wet asphalt reflects deep indigo darkness and cold street light through fragmented puddles pooling around her bare feet. Rainwater gathers and sheets across the umbrella's transparent dome, channeling downward in rapid beads off the lower rim. stark solid contrast, unnerving dread.
