character: i-8_(kancolle) 1girl, solo, blue eyes, glasses, under-rim eyewear, red-framed eyewear, semi-rimless eyewear, low twintails, twintails, blonde hair, ahoge, sailor hat, peaked cap, ribbon, hair ribbon, school swimsuit, name tag, white thighhighs, covered feet, looking at viewer, closed mouth smile, hands on hat, fetal position, underwater, floating, bubbles, from side, full body, submerged, light rays, caustics, blue-green water The view is a full-body side-on three-quarter shot framed from slightly below her eye level, suspended in open water. A single young woman floats in a fetal position, curled tight and tilted a little onto her back: knees drawn up toward her chest and pressed together, white thighhighs sheathing both legs all the way down so her feet are fully covered in the white fabric, toes pointed and drifting, no shoes anywhere on her. Her arms are folded up over her head, both small hands resting on the crown of her sailor hat, fingers curled over its flat round edge and the red-framed glasses' temples just below them. The hat sits low and level against the current, its ribbon band circling the base, a hair ribbon knotted at the back of her low twintails, which hang in two blonde tails that lift and splay outward in the water, strands separating into slow ribbons; the short ahoge above her brow curls and uncurls with the drift. She wears a school swimsuit, a plain white rectangular name tag on the chest, its printed lettering blurred soft by the water so it reads as a name only in suggestion. Her chin is tucked toward her shoulder, and her blue eyes are turned to the camera through the red and semi-rimless lenses, the lower edge of each lens bearing the visible rim while the upper line stays clear glass; she holds a small closed-mouth smile, lips together, a faint lift at one corner. Bubbles rise from between her pressed lips and from the loose edge of one sleeve in thin strands of perfect spheres, small ones clinging briefly under the flat brim of the cap before letting go. She is the only thing in the frame that is not water: the background is empty blue-green depth, no seabed, no reef, no surface in sight, only columns of pale light slanting down from above frame-left, and where those shafts cross her skin they throw wavering bright net patterns over her arms, the bridge of her nose and the tops of her thighs, the water breaking the light into honeycomb cells on the upward-facing surfaces while the undersides of her legs and the hollow of her folded body stay in cool shadow. The brim of the hat casts a soft shadow across her brow. Her hair, the swimsuit and the thighhighs are gentle and heavy with the water, the suit's fabric suctioned to her ribs and hip, the white of the thighhighs catching the light where the leg turns. Palette: blue-green water, warm blonde gold, white swimsuit and thighhighs, one accent of red in the glasses frames. Serene, weightless.
