She is on all fours, weight carried on forearms and knees, back arched and hips lifted, both hands flat on the floorboards, fingers curled and nails digging in. Her small body is bare except for the pink striped bra and pink striped panties; her witch hat sits tilted low on her head, and the black and orange cape has slid forward over her shoulders and pools around her elbows. Long pink twintails spill down over her shoulders toward the floor, their ends touching the boards. Her face is turned down the slope of her own body toward the viewer: one eye squeezed shut, the other wide and wet with tears that run past her small fang as she grits her teeth; blood runs from her mouth in a thin line, and scratches and bruises mark her thighs, ribs and arms, with gauze bandages wrapped unevenly around one forearm, her calf and across her ribs. Directly beneath her, a dark portal opens in the floorboards -- a ragged black disc with a violet-red glow at its rim -- and from it monstrous black hands rise, long-fingered and glossy, gripping her stomach. Her stomach is torn open: the wound gapes beneath her ribs and the black hands are inside it, fingers wound around loops of intestine and holding them up, wet coils drawn out of the opening and hanging low, one loop already resting on the floorboards beside the portal in a slick red-black coil. Blood runs down her abdomen and drips from the fingertips and the hanging organs, pooling in the grooves between the boards so it runs along the floorboard seams toward the bottom edge of the frame. The only light is the portal's violet-red glow under her and a cold moonlight falling from an unseen high window behind her: the glow underlights the black hands, her ribcage and the underside of her chin, while the moonlight draws a cold rim along her back, hat brim and cape, leaving everything beyond those two pools in absolute black. Palette is restricted to pink, black, violet-red and the wet near-black of blood; the cape's orange is the single warm break in it. Petite, trembling, bleeding out -- dreadful and unbearably intimate.
