In the center of the plate sits a girl no taller than the plate's radius — the plate's rim wider than the span of her twintails, the fork's tines each longer than her forearm — her legs folded to her right side with the knees bent and both dark ankle boots resting flat on the porcelain, her left palm pressed flat on the plate beside her hip taking her weight, her right hand resting loosely on her right knee. Her long strawberry-blonde hair is gathered into two huge wavy twintails that spread onto the plate on either side of her, bangs across her forehead, exactly two hair ornaments — a small white bear clip on the left and a red bow with a white ribbon tail on the right.
